Just get lost man..just go home!

You’ve been an utter disappointment, and utter failure on all big occasions, and today was no different.

Big players, win big matches! This is your fifth WC, and the one match you’ve been constantly yapping about in the media, hyping it up to satisfy your own ego. But when the big moment finally arrives - Pakistanis fans place all their hopes on their darling superstar player - that darling superstar like a bored 8 year suffering from ADD throws his wicket away to go back to resting in the balcony. He’s on holiday!

If he has any shame, he should be quite ashamed of himself, and stop demanding ‘big send off’ from PCB. Not a single penny from public money should be wasted on organising any kind of farewell party for players like Shahid Afridi. Good riddance I say.

I was appalled to see him coming after Maqsood and Umar Akmal when Pakistan genuinely needed to rotate the strike. I guess they still treat him as a mindless slogger and a glorified tail-ender who is still an insult to a proper middle order batting.

YK is a disgrace, the entire batting order has to be shuffled, keepers have to be changed just so team man can play. And the fact he is not dropped then the blame should be on capt and coach. Why was Jamshed called anyway? To eat dahi bhalay and halwa poori? Afridi's bowling average is 50+ (I kid you not, someone correct me if I am wrong) vs India and he has never performed bowling wise.

Game was over when India won the toss. This shambles of a batting line up isn't chasing 200, never mind 300 vs a team who we have now lost to on every big occasion. Travesty, that junk bowling line up Indians have with trundlers is smashed off by every other team.

I opened a thread on Afridi because I - like many other Pakistanis and sponsors rate him as a 'bigger' player than Younus and Umar Akmal, and today, we needed Afridi to save the match. If Misbah who is not even as half naturally talented as Afridi, can last till the end, what makes this Primma Donna so special (or useless rather?)

Umar Akmal for the record was given a wrong out - bad luck. But Afridi like always, threw his wicket away coz he got bored.

Now Afridi will be back in the country by next week, call all his media friends to arrange his signature 'airport interviews' and say "errrr yeah errm what was I supposed to do, half of the team was already out, it is extremely unfair to expect me to last few overs and score some runs".

If we had balls and dropped YK and put a proper keeper in there maybe our keeper would have caught it. Shambolic from the team mgt.

This Indian team's bowling is a laughing stock, every other team thrashes them. Except us.

I don't know what Immy sees in him. If he was still the captain, Afridi would not have lasted 20 days under him, let alone completing 20 years in green shirt with his dismissal performances, record breaking disciplinary issues and what not.

We all know how Immy taught young Waqar Younis a much needed lesson. Afridi and Akhtar would've also ended as proper cricket legends instead of mere superstars had someone bothered fixing them up earlier on in their careers.

Had Afridi looked like Inzi (no offence to Inzi) instead of having model looks he would have been out of the team decade ago. He is the commercial milking cow for PCB with his ads and commercial value and hence has never been dropped.

Bring in Hamad Azam, the guy who smashed South Africans, and Fawad Alam, the guy who can absorb pressure and keep the score board moving...

it was simple equation, had he stayed on the wicket with Misbah till 40th over, the equation would have been much more easier.. but no, Afridi have to play stupid, otherwise who would called him stupid afridi

Razaq and Azhar mehmood in any other team would have been legends.

Now PCB is repeating that with Fawad, Azam, Sadaf Hussain, Sami Aslam etc. Jaahil board run by dinosaurs. I am incensed today by the defeat.

and you know what, indians were struggling againt everyone in Aus. Match against pakistan was a treat for them.

Honestly I won't be surprised if we go out in group stage. The confidence will be gone. SA, WI even Ireland or Zimbabwe would be very hard

I was reading, can you believe it Moin Khan didn't have a clue about our top domestic bowlers? Afridi or some player let it slip ''Moin Bhai selects players by looking at domestic scorecards'. So the idiot does not go to watch games or scout talent but looks at scorecards on his laptop. Me and you can do that too, what's his job then?

It breaks my heart, Fawad is 28 now. He should have had 5k runs by now. He has been wasted.

can't believe it... but looking at the team and combination, i am sure this is what have happened, and This Waqar Younis, he is just jinx to the team, he was coach when the match fixing scandal hit us, he was coach when we lost last worldcup, he was coach when we had all the shameful and major defeats and yet he is still the head coach...

and tell you what, he was legendary fast bowler, couldn't produce one in all these years.. tells scores about his coaching and talent hunting ability

Every kid with a bat wants to be the next Afridi in the country. This is how badly his popularity has polluted the street cricket culture in Pakistan and overtaken the importance of being a proper attacking batsman a la Miandad, Inzimam style, in the eyes of aspiring youngsters. Good thing he's leaving Pakistan cricket, it is about time, PCB invest some money in proper advertising and awareness campaign that aims to revive the names and services of proper batting legends for the new generation to look up to.

The young generation of cricketers in Pakistan need to start appreciating legendary batsmen instead of idolising and fatally emulating this mindless slogger whose all 'superstar qualities' will be forgotten in few years time.
