Statistics are like a bikini. What they reveal is interesting. But *what they hide is vital.

I might agree with you as far as Afridi is concerned. He has had too many wasted opportunities. With Razzaque, you need to be a little more generous. As a bowler, he played under the shadows of Wasim and Waqar for most of the time and as a batsman he came after the likes of Inzi, Yousaf and Yunis Khan. He might not have a great number of runs or wickets but his little innings down the order often won matches for Pakistan and his stingy bowling (later in his career) got wickets for the bowlers at the other end. And yes, he has been underutilized by most of Pakistani captains, probably because he doesn’t have an imposing personality in dressing room.

What stats hide is VITAL? I disagree. Stats tell us a lot. Yep there might be stuff that they don’t reveal but to claim that what they dont reveal is VITAL is a little much.

I agree about Razzak.. he has not achieved what he was capable of… specially in batting… due to politics.. or not enough exposure.. or not enough chances… he could have been a yuvraj singh (WC winning man of the series) or a symonds.

Afridi is a different story. He has gotten plenty of chances. He has wasted plenty of chances. And worst of all.. he has brought shame to the legitimacy of Pak and World cricket in general with all the pitch scuffing ball eating. The Razzler would never do something like that.
