so many positive steps are being taken by afghan women, most of the time all we hear is bad news but there’s plenty of news like this coming out of afghanistan

she's in office when the taliban are alive and well though, her life is much tougher than benazir bhutto's, the afghan taliban aren't big fans of women in high positions or educated women, plus dr. habiba sarabi seems to be making actual progressive changes for that one province, she doesn't seem corrupt.....yet.

i mean her job as a female governor has a lot of risks seeing that the taliban can easily do harm to her. which well known groups were against benazir bhutto at that time?

I don’t think its fair to compare her with Benazir Bhutto, since Benazir was born with a silver spoon whereas Dr.Sarabi is self made.

That's an achievement by Afghan standards, in Pakistan certainly it's very normal to see women on such statuses.

why was pakistan brought up?
even india and so many other countries have had quite a few women in high positions but i really can’t compare them with afghanistan. the taliban are just a breed of nutcases that are hard to understand and most likely no other country has this type of group with such power present in these times

This is very impressive, especially considering it was done in a hostile environment. Maybe Afghanistan can actually recover from the bent over thrashing it received from America and the Soviets.
