Truly sickening. How can anyone rationalize such crimes?

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) – Suspected Taliban militants have executed a 7-year-old boy, accusing him of spying for the government, officials in southern Afghanistan said Thursday.

The execution took place Tuesday in the Sangin district of Helmand province, said Dawoud Ahmadi – the provincial governor’s spokesman.
In the past, militants have carried out similar killings of those accused of spying, Ahmadi said.

Three years ago, a 70-year-old woman and a child in the Musa Qala district of the province were executed following the same allegations, he said.

During a news conference Thursday, Afghan President Hamid Karzai said officials were looking into reports of the execution and said he condemned the act if it is confirmed to be true.

whenever the talibs execute someone they advertise it. they use it as pr because the rules of execution are known to muslims.

since hamid karzai is still looking into the reports, this particular report is most probably fiction!

if it is true, i thank cnn for bringing to our attention that nato is using children as spies in its war to kill villagers wearing slippers

these people are some of the only people on earth for whom a fair trial and justice is not on offer

what they know is that every few years a mighty army comes to kill them, often employing locals to help kill them. and this time the army is a very mighty coaliition of the worlds most sophisticated armies

its just propaganda. very good propaganda we can say. even the article feels ashamed enough to admit that its unconfirmed.

i condemn the war on the tribal people, not what the tribal people do - it isnt just to take sides with the worlds mightiest armies and condemn an unorganised people whenever the worlds mightiest armies tell you to!

now if youve already taken a bite and actually agree with the war in afghanistan, then yeah i can see why you find comfort in this story. that however is not justice

Amazing you won't answer a simple question.

And no need to comfort myself. I have seen first hand the actions of these taliban. A few days ago they brought in a little girl - 9 years old - who was picked up beaten for going to school.

The men were identified by Pashtun elders as members of the Taliban from Helmand.

Good to see those are the people you support.

but assuming it is true, with a few replaced facts, now you have the justification for the war. well done

the tribal people are free to choose to educate or not educate their girls. i would, if given the chance, offer my thoughts on the matter to them. but if, you people part of the coalition, of military and cultural enforced change ever find girls beatten up - blame yourselves for enforcing an unnatural change.

just a few years ago a similar attitude, towards girls education, was prevalent in the major cities of pakistan. if the matter was forced upon us, that would have been unfair because people would have undoubtly been divided on the matter. +++all the complications that would ensue

no children, i mean babies only months old, have died as a result of air bombardment on homes of people who refused foreign dictation on their countries politics.

they seem to have stumbled onto the shield of moral invulnerability here, atleast in the eyes of some, simply by being bombed by america. magic bombs.
