Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

Tension is brewing between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Is there a war in the near future? News Video on TV shows Afghanis shouting anti-Pakistan slogans.

Afghans Demonstrate Against Pakistan
By AMIR SHAH

KABUL, Afghanistan - About 1,000 Afghans shouting “Death to Pakistan” demonstrated in front of Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul Wednesday, blaming the neighboring country for some of the bloodiest border clashes in years.
**
Many of the demonstrators were from the eastern province of Paktia, where the fighting between Afghan and Pakistani troops killed at least 13 Afghan border guards and civilians so far this week.

The demonstrators carried banners and shouted “Death to the ISI! Death to Musharraf,” a reference to Pakistan’s intelligence agency and President Gen. Pervez Musharraf.

Afghan police wearing riot gear guarded the embassy in downtown Kabul. There were no reports of violence.

“We’ve run out of patience with Pakistan,” said Sultan Uddin, 50, from the Jaji district of Paktia. “We’re requesting President (Hamid) Karzai to give us weapons and remove the border police. We know how to deal with Pakistan.”

Tensions have been running high between Afghanistan and Pakistan over controlling their 1,510-mile border, and stemming the flow of Taliban and al-Qaida militants who stage attacks inside Afghanistan.

Afghan officials said this week’s border clashes began when Pakistani soldiers entered Afghan territory. Pakistan said Afghan soldiers started the clashes by firing on border posts.

On Monday, unidentified militants killed a U.S. soldier and a Pakistani soldier after a meeting in a Pakistani border region between officials from Pakistan, Afghanistan and the NATO peacekeeping force. The meeting was meant to cool tensions over the border fighting.

Elsewhere, militants attacked U.S.-led coalition forces and Afghan border police in southern Afghanistan, killing one coalition soldier, officials said Wednesday. The soldier’s nationality was not released.

The combined patrol was returning from providing medical assistance to more than 600 Afghans in Kandahar province when it was attacked Tuesday about 25 miles southwest of Qalat in Zabul province, a coalition statement said.

The death brings the number of foreign troops killed in Afghanistan this year to 50, including at least 25 American soldiers.

An official with Afghanistan’s intelligence service, meanwhile, said three other Taliban commanders were killed alongside the militants’ top field commander, Mullah Dadullah, in an operation in Helmand province over the weekend. One of them was Dadullah’s brother, identified as Mullah Shah Mansoor, the official said.

The three other commanders killed were among five Taliban released from Afghan prisons in March in exchange for a kidnapped Italian journalist, the official said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

NATO has said Dadullah was killed after he moved into Afghanistan from his “sanctuary” _ a reference to Pakistan.

In the southern city of Kandahar, health ministry director Qayum Pukhla said six civilians were wounded after soldiers from NATO’s International Security Assistance Force fired on them while driving through the city in a convoy.

Kandahar Gov. Asadullah Khalid confirmed residents were wounded by troops but said he did not know how many.

NATO’s ISAF said it was looking into the report and had no immediate comment.

In Helmand province, coalition and Afghan soldiers exchanged gunfire with suspected Taliban militants in the Kajaki district. An airstrike destroyed the militants’ position, the coalition said. Two fighters were detained.

“A precision strike was conducted when it was obvious the militants were well-armed and had no intentions of surrendering,” coalition spokesman Maj. Chris Belcher said.

Coalition and Afghan forces also detained what they called a suspected trainer of suicide bombers at a compound in Khost province late Tuesday.

In Helmand province, the Taliban attacked an Afghan army convoy in Sangin district Tuesday night, said Izatullah Khan, the district chief. Two soldiers were wounded, and three Taliban were killed in the ensuing battle.

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

you wish, mr patel!

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

They knew how to deal with US and NATO too, but now they roll over and play dead when NATO foces drive by :)

if they mean hiding among population and attacking under cover on anonymity then I guess yeah they know how to deal with Pakistan or any other country.

open warfare hui toh itni chitrol honi hai keh yaad karein gaye.

with all of pakistan's issues, the nation will unite against external threat.

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

And perhaps that is what Pakistan is in need of.

Afghanistan can do nothing but blame others for their own internal problems. Its just a display of power..... They should rather focus in rebuilding entire Afghanistan. Its really a shame, as allies they could bring a lot of stability to the entire region.

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

..and after the demonstration Mr Sultan Uddin went to the nearest Indian consulate to collect his remuneration. :bobo:

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

If it comes to war it is the Pakistani Pashtuns that will be the first in line to beat the hell out of the Afghans!

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

afghani were crying about iran deprting afghanis back, they are not ready to take afghan refugees in Pakistan back who would rather be in pakistan than afghanistan..mostly not for any love for Pakistan, but due to a better life they ahve here than they can get in that wasteland.

ooper say baat kartay hain. silly u are right, pakistani pashtuns would do some serious chitrol on these ppl.

for now we can tell afghanis to go back to licking NATO boots.

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

I wonder if demonstration by angry Awam is "Jung ka Ailan"??

I saw at least three demonstrations from communists in India with standard slogans of bravery were raised like "death to America", "death to Bush", "Bush Go Back to your ranch" etc. etc.

And next thing that happened was--MMS signed a Nuclear deal with Unkil...(and communists have given this government their support) :D

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

topi drama as usual.

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

can't just Pakistan locate to a different neighorhood. With countries like India, Afghanistan and Iran on your border, it's really hell for us!

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

What would be the ideal location? Middle of China?

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

Yeah, with neighbors like these, its no wonder Pak is where it is today... Other then China, none of Paks neighbors have ever given it any chand sakoon or whatever for even a moment...
Well Iran was cool up until the Shah was overthrown and then the whole Afghan Taliban thing.

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

Pakistan should be a an island in the middle of the Pacific ocean:)

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

abay yaar...phir macchlian would blame ISI when an octupus or shark eats them or when some storm messes up their underwater hideouts

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

what a bunch of morons.

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

Time to kick some Afghan ass. The entire country is nothing but a group of rejects from the communities around its four sides. It's a big clusterfk nation comprising of the uncivilized rejects from Pushtun, Uzbek and Tajik communities. It's about to do some 'natural selection' for the Afghanis!

By the way, it's also about time our Mullahs realized that Afghanis had nothing to do with Islam. They are simply uncivilized tribal people who'd love to deal in drugs and settle tribal rivalries if left alone. Build a fking wall around this moronic nation that's a pain in the ass for the rest of the world.

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

ive come to the conclusion that these northern alliance warlords are setting pakistan up as their number1 enemy for the longterm future. i blame this directly on US mismanagement of afghanistan(the only place where democracy is not pushed). the country would be much better run by pashtun elders representing the ethnic majority of the country.

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

LOL… But atleast machlia wouldnt send their refugees to build camps on our beaches.. The only part of Kashmir they would occupy is the dinner menu, and im sure that unlike the Iranians, the Machlia would be secular and without any ambitions at taking on the Americans etc… :hehe:

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

Not a new thing...its in blood of many afghanis that they betray thier own friends and well wisher...from Syed Ahmed Shaeed...to Nadir Shah and Zahir Shah...they always opposed Pakistan....When the Lion of God says truth that...

Jis par ehsan karo...uus kai Shar sai Bacho....

Re: Afghanistan-Pakistan war?

yah he ran out of patients. now he will give away TV/JUICER-BLENDER for free but wont sell it to Pakistan (remembering those afghanis who used to sell electronics from BARA MARKER) :)

on serious note, zara "border police" ko hatoo itnee chitroool honee hai na k bus. 3Million Afghans who are in Pakistan (and are living better life) will do their chitroool, Pak Army and ppl of Pakistan tu baad kee baat hai. (btw, thats a news for me that Afghanistan has any such thing as police)
