Afghanistan offers condolences over Akbar Bugti’s death
KABUL: Afghanistan on Tuesday offered condolences to the family of tribal chief Nawab Akbar Bugti who was killed in a military operation in Balochistan. Bugti’s death on the weekend triggered days of riots by angry supporters.
“We regret his death and we offer our condolences to the family of late Bugti,” said a spokesman for Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
Speaking at a press conference, spokesman Mohammad Karim Rahimi described Bugti as an “influential, famous Baloch tribal leader.” Bugti was killed in a military assault on a mountain hideout on Saturday. afp
Maybe if it wasn’t for Afghanistan encouraging Bugti to confront the government in Balochistan then maybe he would have been killed like a dog.
