Afghanistan frees Italy aid staff

**Afghanistan has freed three Italian aid workers held on suspicion of plotting to kill a provincial governor, Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini says.**The three members of the medical charity Emergency were arrested on 10 April in Helmand province.

The detentions came after suicide bomb vests and weapons were discovered at a hospital run by the charity in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand.

The employees had strongly denied the allegations against them.
