I guess it is better for Pushtoons to stay on this side of the border. This news coupled with the recent murder of 20+ Pushtoons simply shows, Afghanistan doesn’t want them anymore.
Afghanistan expels 29 Pakistanis
PESHAWAR: Afghan authorities expelled 29 Pakistani nationals living in Afghanistan without valid passports on Thursday. Sources said the Afghan government started the operation after the exchange of tough statements between Islamabad and Kabul. Online
Did Pak already expel all the Afghan refugees that have been living in Pak since 1979, without valid passports or visas? If not, this should be a first step. With Kabul government flush with cash, I am sure a few million Afghans making their way back to their homeland will be a joyous occasion (they may declare a National Holiday to celebrate). Since Mr Karzai is such a tough guy, I am sure he can manage to find jobs and homes for all his people.
Were these pakistani nationals Pashtuns, if they were, then this shows that the Northern Alliance is getting a little cozy in the government. Plus, antiobl, the day Afghanistan fully gets rid or as you say doesn't want "Pashtoons" anymore, that day it will be stripped of the word Afghan. These are very unfortunate cases for us pashtuns, but this is a reminder that we need to claim our stake in the Afghan government. Without pashtuns there is no Afghanistan, I have respect for all the other ethnic groups, but Afghanistan is not Afghan without us pashtuns form both sides of the durand.
Oh my! The Afghan government is very stringent. I had no idea they'd be so quick in expelling the illegal immigrants. I'm sure these Pakistanis must've either been a real nuisance or the Afghan government must've sorted out all the other major problems in their country to have been so swift in expelling illegal Pakistanis.
Talk about having priorities in place.
If Afghans are what Afghanistan needs to be complete, then why are there still so many in Pakistan? Forget Pakistan government deporting them, shouldn't the Afghans residing in Pakistan be the ones taking the initiative to catch the first flight back home?
They just blame Pakistan for all their troubles knowing full well that half their country is run by drug lords and war lords who are running their private militias by drug trade.
These warlords have made alliances with Taliban and are giving them sancutary.
I think Afghanistan is going to resemble Columbia pretty soon.

I dont think there will be peace in Afghanistan for the next 50 years.
Afghanistan's geography and history are such that a "perfect peace" is not possible. However my hope is that in a couple of years, the country will have a decent enough government that could run the affairs of at least major cities.
Afghanistan has suffered too much for the last 30 years. I hope and pray that Allah blesses this unfortunate land with some basic (and not too fancy) government structure.

It was stupid back then to open our borders to millions of these ingrates.. all they brought us was drugs, arms and took the culture backwards a hundred years.... while thousands upon thousands of deserving biharis sat rotting in camps in Bangladesh.

Perhaps you ignored the other news where Afghanis killed many Pashtuns and handed them over to Pakistani govt claiming them as "Taliban" fighters killed in "battle" which later turned out to be false, those Pashtun were killed from close range.... as close as 2-3 feet.
I have not ignored one thing at all. I recognize the ground reality, adn it pains me more than anyone else. However the problems we suffer is our disunity. Maybe if pashutns stop thinking in regional terms, and arguing over petty things, only then can we move forward. Wrongs were committed but perpetuating them, and pushign them farther is going to hurt the Pashtuns the most.

The so-called Pushtoon nationalists have every right to speak on this forum or any other place. However ignoring the internationally recognized borders is not going to serve either Pushtoons or non-Pushtoons in the region.
Afghanistan after 30+ years of civil war has a chance to get out form under the rubble. It breaks my heart to see Pushtoons from across the border are not helpting the situation. This or any other time is not good to violate Afghan border as accepted by the international law.
Afghans have not been very smart in the past when they incited Pakistani Pushtoons. They are not smart now when they issue $tupid statements against Pakistan.
People must realize that while a tiny dirtbag of a country with less than 10 million poor start challenging 150 million much stronger neighbor, things get pretty rough. And violators of the border between the two countries are only adding more fuel to the fire.
A true nationalist talks about improving the lot of its people, and saving them from the fire. Unfortunately what I see on this forum is a bunch of "so called Pushtoons" stoking the fire that will first and foremost consume the very Pushtoons.
Oh well, it will take many generations to rid the tribal thinking and we are just starting that process.
