Afghanistan Elections

Since Jolie is of the opinion that the Afghanistan Electoral system is far better than the Pakistani system, we have this thread.

The original post:

Now Jolie I leave it to you to define which elections you wish to refer too. The 2010 parliamentary elections or the 2014 Presidential elections.

Parameters would of course be areas similar to Pakistan.

  1. Independence of the IEC
  2. Political deadlock
  3. Role of Judiciary if any
  4. Foreign involvement
  5. Rigging
  6. Corruption

Anything you wish to add.

Re: Afghanistan Elections

Sorry guys. This is all complete bullsht.

The poster is obviously lying. I made a very sarcastic remark in earlier discussions in PA. The poster clearly missed the irony despite after being told.

These are not my views. I have no desire to engage with this poster and I would appreciate if he/she could lying and attributing false statements/misinterpretation to me.

Irony is not everyone's cup of tea.

Re: Afghanistan Elections

Back tracking now are we. You do realize you have made the comparison before as well, just like IK did.. But regardless your original post is posted. We can close this thread.

Re: Afghanistan Elections

Afghanistan is heading towards civil war like Iraq once NATO pulls out, the Tajiks and Pashtuns can't get along, neither can the smaller ethnic groups.

Re: Afghanistan Elections

Afghanistan has always been in one war or the other, what kind of a war it is, does not matter. Wars in Afghanistan are a way of life.

Re: Afghanistan Elections

It is difficult to believe that Afghanistan has a better election system, commission, technologies and expertise. But I do know that they sacked over 5k election officials for electoral anomalies. It means that despite lacking it proper apparatus, they still take the process serious and making officials example for not performing their duties.

So as far as will to hold fair elections is concerned, Pakistan does seem to be trailing its war-ravaged neighbour. Just an opinion, I maybe wrong.

Re: Afghanistan Elections

err...they don't have 5000 staff across the country. For entire Western Region they had 50 people and that was for 4 provinces. Herat, Ghor, Farah and Badghis. In Farah the IEC had 3 full time staff.

Re: Afghanistan Elections

The next one might be the last....

Re: Afghanistan Elections

Generations after generations have vanished assuming this. Still I would wish the same as you do :)

Re: Afghanistan Elections

perhaps the break up of afghanistan might be the solutions, it seems likely.
