Re: Afghanistan bomb attacks kill twenty-one US soldiers in 48 hours
It's not about the minerals friend, it's about who controls Afghanistan and while one might say that who controls Afghanistan will control the minerals so it must be about the minerals, that would be a shortsighted and a very incomplete thought.
The U.S. is fighting for a victory which means a stability with limited amounts of violence in parts of the country that are governed by those who are friendly to the U.S., actively against terrorists, use Afghanistan's resources to move the country forward rather than line their personal pockets, and protect human rights. A loss allows control to those who are Anti-American, support or allow terrorists to operate freely, divert Afghanistan's resources to their own agendas rather than the peoples well being, and violate human rights.
A U.S. victory is far from a given but a loss will never be allowed. If the U.S. can not secure a victory the U.S. will not allow an anti-American, pro-terrorist entity to rule. Without a victory within the next few years the U.S. forces will cease public operations and remove the majority of it's troops. At that point tribes far more brutal than the U.S. military will be armed and paid off to continue the battles, chaos and destruction will rule Afghanistan more than is does now.
Afghanistan was the pot that was allow to cook Islamic fundamentalism without disturbance for many years, the U.S. policy was shortsighted and helped add ingredients to that pot and suffered the consequences. It boiled over and the kitchen caught on fire. While it may end up that the firefighters are unable to put out the fire, you can be assured that it will be contained one way or the other.
Oh so you mean US is there to "help" Afghanistan as US tried to "help" Iraq? :D Who you are trying to fool my friend? Iraq is at its worst condition now what it was before US attack. Afghanistan is at its worst condition now too before US attacked.
US army killing innocent kids and women to equalize the number of causalities they face monthly. Read wiki leaks you will find more about the reality behind it.
Again who you are trying to foll by saying pro-terrorist? if I dont like someone in my home I will surly try to cut off his head if he will break into my home!! Thats what Afghanis are doing as no one called US for anything. Osama or Al Qaeda is just a self made reason. If there is anything like that, they could have captured him ages ago. Come with fact rather than sympathizing with America for its wrong doing.

It's true, everyday Iraq life was better off when a brutal dictator was in charge as he was able to keep Muslims from killing one another by using brutal means with the mass graves to prove it. Do you suggest a return to that formula?
To claim Afghanistan is at it's worst condition now is laughable. The situation in Afghanistan is not good but to claim life was better there before the UN entered is a lie, that is unless you are speaking for the Taliban or al-Qaeda, life was better for them before the UN entered. Billions of dollars of infrastructure has gone up, schools destroyed by the Taliban have been re-built, Afghanistan is still suffering but to pretend it hadn't been before the UN entered in rubbish.
Let's be clear, the U.S. didn't invade to help the people of Afghanistan, it was a response to an attack against the U.S. It is now in the interest of the U.S. to see Iraq and Afghanistan stable, violence free,** with a society that respects human rights, ergo one that opposes those that use Islam to justifying acts of terror.** A broken down Iraq and Afghanistan is not in the interest of the U.S. The U.S. gives billions in Aid to Pakistan so it doesn't break down.
Really mature analysis . But I don't think folks here will care once the the US leaves. You see Muslims killing Muslims is a-okay. The most oppressive laws that Muslims have to live under are those of Saudi A., the biggest genocide of Muslims happens in Darfur. Ever heard anybody complaining ?
No muslims killing muslims is not ok, when occupiers stop interfering in muslim nations including sudan where USA is supplying john garang group with arms and money while claiming they after peace you will see end to muslim killing muslims.
