talking of new maps a possible solution to the aghanistan dilema is for pakistan to take over the day to day running of this country. ensure terror camps are not allowed to operate and give the usa a get out ticket. as it stands foreign troops are going to be there for a long time. Personally i think this is the best short and long term solution for afghanistan. integration and freedom of travel could be phased over a longer period.
is it possible?
would the war lords allow it? would ordinary afghans take to the idea?
could pakistan police this war torn land?
or would it be just too much trouble?
I dont think so!, Its not viabale solution. given the Afghans even cant live with their own ethinic brothers within Afghanistan, living under Pakistan or with Pakistan is impossiblity.
Afghanistan will obviously become one of the provinces of Pakistan when the time is right. Offcourse Afghanistan falls into the Pakistani ideology of Greater Pakistan based on the 'Seven Stans' theory.
No way. Afghanistan is never going to become a Pakistan province. like someone said said earlier, Afghanis barely get along with themselves, let alone pakista. And anyways, afghanistan would be to much of a financial responsibility for pakistan. the country has 0 infrastructure, and it is completely in rubbles. And i really wouldt want more afghanis then we already have. Islamabad is infested by afghan refugees who do nothing but beg for "sookhi rooti" and go through trash, and wander around like gypsies, and contribute to various crimes(anything from kidnappings, murder to drug peddling)
and also, Already, afghani heroin is a scourage for pakistan, asia, and all of europe. Number of heroin addicts is increasing all around the world, and afghani opum prodcution goes up each year. if afghanistan would become part of pakistan, the drug problem would multiply hundered of times then it already is
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? the seven "stans" theory is never going to work, let me say it again, NEVER. The only thing all thse countries have in common is "stan" in the country name, and thats it.
I think you'll find our government visiting the Seven Stans more than they visit Arabia and the leaders of Central Asia are in Pakistan every other day... why?
So, you think that when central asian leaders visit pakistan, they are talking about a greater Pakistan?!? Im sorry ,dude, but your flat out wrong.
They visit with things reagarding as to trade usually. Central asia, is very rich in natural resources, most of these talks are usually centered around these natural resources, or other trade in general.
These countries have nothign in common with us, not even the script used for language(most central asian republics use cyriccl)

Obviously they're not talking about Greater Pakistan. But Pakistan prefers to do trade within the Seven Stans rather than with Arabia.
^^ but arabia doesnt have much national resoruces besides oil(and natural gas to some extent), central asian republics are rich in a variety of nat. resources
Actually, according to what I recall (and I believe I remember correctly), after Russian was out of Afghanistan, Hikmat Yar proposed of union and if Pakistan does not agree on union than confederation of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Even Zia government (probably the most probable government that could have done this mistake) realised and ignored such proposal. I believe that if such mistake was possible, it could have happened at that time and fortunately, it did not happened. Now it seems a very remote possibility due to many reasons (obvious and hidden, political and economical).
Note: Having union or even confederation with countries having strong tribal culture is never a good idea. Tribal culture is selfish culture full of corruptions and nepotism, where tribal people only think of own tribes or tribes they share similarities, at the expanse of other nationals of the country (that do not belong to their tribe) and even interest of the country. Thus, union with such people could only bring troubles and disasters.
A country needs cohesive society promoting peace, fairness, tolerance, love and respect of others (regardless of race, creeds, and sects), sacrifices, communal feelings and feelings of strong National identity as ingredients for development and prosperity (that Pakistan needs most). Pakistan is already having hard time to develop that feeling of national identity amongst Pakistani tribes. Disaster with the addition of Afghanistan strong tribal society is anyone’s guess.
It will be nothing Pakistan and Afghanistan ..
Afghanistan used to be a part of pakistan...rite ¿
Pakistan:
P=Punjab , A= Afghan border (whats now NWFP) , K= Kashmir, S= Sindh, Tan= Baluchistan
