Yeah I have all my mum’s old National Geographic magazines, including this one where this pic is on the front cover.

He was having a very different time photographing women: once they reach puberty,they have to keep their face covered,and essentially they’re off-bounds as a subject. So in the course of visting a refugee camp he went into a school tent and asked the teacher if he could photograph some oy her pupils.This girl was one of them.she was 12 at that time.She and her family had spent two weeks walking through the mountains to escape Russians.She had never really left her village before this walk to Pakistan,and she had never seen a foreigner.
