I absolutely LOVE afghani white sauce… it goes with everything… tikkas, kabobs, gyros… etc

A while back I created a post requesting the recipe for Afghan White sauce and was unsuccessful in obtaining the recipe.

I have finally mastered this delicious condiment…

… Would anyone care for the recipe?

Here you go....

1 Cup Mayonnaise
1/4 Cup Yogurt (Can substitute low fat/ fat free yogurt
1 tsp Dry Mint
1 tbl apple cider vinegar
1 tbl water
1/2 tsp salt

Mix mayo with plain yogurt. (A food processer can be used, but I usually mix by hand)

Next add apple cider vinegar, water, salt, and dry crushed mint leaves.

The consistancy should be smooth and creamy when finished.

the real stuff is made with dried mint and reconstituted quroot, which is amazing.

what milk is the yogurt made out off?

also u can replace the apple cider with garlic and call it garlic sauce :D for ur shwarma...

You guys can do whatever your heart desires. This turned out pretty good when i tried it.

I do know the stuff I have at the resteraunts here definitely has mayo in it... you can taste it...
