Iconoclast you are right to some extent, there were some very terible things that happened. Its part of history we can't deny it. However, many pashutns did serve and did fight for kashmir. It doesn't change the bad things that happened, but it doesn't diminish the achievements the Pashtuns did.

Never, the day we do it, thats the end of us pashtuns, end of ethnic Afghans. The division is what destroyed us, unity is what will brign us together. Generalizing based on this odd event is not proper. According to Pakistani official statement, the deceased were proceeding to Mazar Sharifr for Nauroz on 20th March whereas Nauroz day was 22 March. Mazar Sharif is a very far off place and from Queta, probably it takes many days to reach there.

Dude, I think I know y own people a lot more than you. I know the discntent shared on both sides, but unlike others I am not willing to give up. Disunity has been an unfortunate triat among pashtuns. During the time of Khushal Khan Khattak, the afghan tribes were disunited (you had Esepzye vs Khattak, Ghilzai vs Durani). However, our only way to survival is to stand united as one nation, Yo afghan Millat yo Pakhtun millat. Please, yu should be the last to talk about Islam and treating muslims equally, look at your comments. Plus, when have I acted as if m nation is superior to others. I have not disrespected anyones culture, be it punjabi, sindhi, persian, etc. I have great respect fr all of them. Just see some of comments, and you will find out.

With a mentality like that, you will be wiped out for sure. Fortunately, most of the people living in the NWFP realize that, they value their own selves over some war lord hiding in Afghanistan, and thats what we need. After we are done killing the foriegn militia hiding in the tribes, we will work towards incorporating you into the 21st century, inshallah.

Pakhutns Pashtuns same thing. If you speak with the "sha" dialect its pashtun, if you speak with the "kha" dialect its paktuns. Seriously when was there a difference.

Afghan commander suspended
KANDAHAR, April 1: Afghan authorities have suspended a regional police commander for alleged involvement in last week’s killing of 17 men, some of them Pakistanis, a governor said on Saturday.
Abdul Razaq, border commander of Kandahar, was being questioned about the March 21 killings, governor of southern province Asadullah Khalid said. He refused to say if Razaq had been arrested.
Pakistani authorities have said the men were visiting Afghanistan for the country’s new year celebrations when they were shot dead near the border.
“The men were criminals. The way they were killed, though, was illegal,” the governor insisted.
Razaq had previously claimed that the 17 were Taliban loyalists.
A government official in Chaman had accused Razaq of ordering the killings because of “personal enmity”.

Paki Pathans are wasting their time trying to join Afghanistan, since the non Pashtun members of that country would never allow MORE Pathans to add to the already large population that is over there... Quite frankly, Pashtuns of Afghanistan are a lot worse then the Punjabis of Paksitan...

Whether the incorporation happens ot nor, it doesnt change the fact that our destiny is together. You buy this or not, thats not my concern, pashtuns(afghans) have to stay united, we have no other choice. If we don't we are going to be assimilated and will lose our culture to the persians as well as the desis. Its either unity or pashtuns can kiss their future bye bye.

Well, I dont think anyone cares if Pasthuns remain united as long as they do it without threatening the integrity of Pakistan… Sleep with whoever you want, as long as your not harming the state.
As for assimilation! There are minority groups around the world who have never lost their identity or culture despite being away from their home… There are Japenese living in BRAZIL of all places who still incist on eating Japenese food even while people in Japan are all eating McDonalds etc…
It all comes down to how you project your culture and pass it on to your future generations. I seriously doubt their is any threat to Pasthun culture from the rest of Pakistan.
Besides, how in gods name do you expect your culture to remain free off Desi, Persian culture? You are surrounded by the on all sides, your country has been influnced by them and vice versa for THOUSANDS of years… Why is it suddenly a threat now?
As for maintaing your culture through assimilation with Afghan afghan pathans, how much has your culture been enriched by the influx of millions of Afghans?
The biggest threat to your culture is your own people really… The MMA govt for example has come down hard on music stores and artists… How does this help your culture?
And correct me if im wrong, but dont the majority of Kabul residents all speak Farsi???

Another Question DABZ, what exactly is Pathan culture which you are trying to defend against outside influence? Just the basic components of the cultre which you feel are threatened by Desi and or Persian culture?
It all seems like insecurity to me.
