**Afghan forces abduct, kill two Pakistanis

QUETTA: Afghan security forces kidnapped two Pakistanis in southwestern Balochistan province and later killed them, officials said on Sunday.
Some two dozen Afghan security officers crossed the border into southwestern Pakistan on Friday and kidnapped the two Pakistanis, taking them back into Afghanistan, secretary of tribal affairs Naseebullah Bazai said.
“Two Pakistanis were taken away by Afghan forces and shot dead inside Afghanistan,” Bazai said, adding that the government had called an immediate meeting with the Afghan Consulate General in Quetta.
“We have demanded immediate return of bodies and we shall lodge a strong protest with Afghanistan on Monday,” he said and added that the foreign ministry had been alerted about the incident.
Had these two people been killed in a US drone attack, there would have again been a storm of hue and cry. But since it involves our Afghan brethren, there is no need for any reaction. Besides, it has anyway become a routine matter for them to carry out cross-border attacks and get scot-free. Is there anyone with guts, sources, capability and sense of responsibility towards those who pool money for their salaries?

Have you seen the border? Nope. That explains the answers. Our border is not a flat peace of land where you can have a check post every kilometer. Rather it is heavy mountainous hard rock terrain where we have a check post every 10 to 20 kilometers. Our guys do not have infra-red night vision goggles that they can check who comes in and out at night or hell even during the day. To manage the Afghan border we would need at minimum another 45,000 troops and a completely new structure like Afghanistan has. ISAF established the Afghanistan Border Police (ABP) to manage the borders because they are so large.
Anyway we don't have the man power, the infrastructure, the ability nor the training to govern our borders. Proving yet again the Pakistani Military is not as great as people make it out to be. It is weak and incompetent.
