Afghan Amnesty Law for Warlords

Afghanistan is ruled by warlords, drug barons and other assorted criminals, but this law will make it all legal.

Re: Afghan Amnesty Law for Warlords

yea it may do that...but criminals responsible for terrorizing and killing people for years would get away scott free.

this is what these warlords would be exonerated from,

*In the warlord period, some 80,000 civilians died in Kabul alone. Large numbers of others were kidnapped, mutilated or raped. *

and look at the sickening example of religion card being used by one of these crimianls (who btw are now in the govt)

"Whoever is against mujahideen is against Islam and they are the enemies of this country," former fighter Abdul Rasul Sayyaf, now an influential lawmaker, told the crowd of demonstrators. Mr Sayyaf is one of several commanders linked to human rights violations committed during the country's civil war.

so he is linked to civil war, but to escape from his role in those atrocities he is playing the religion card. shamful.

I hope that Kharzai has enough sense to not sign this law, although not doing it may create chaos since much of the govt comprises these warlords anyways.

Yippeee, another waste of ink and paper.

Re: Afghan Amnesty Law for Warlords

And they point finger at Pakistan for making deals with taliban...

Re: Afghan Amnesty Law for Warlords

Afghan opium ‘hits record output’

Re: Afghan Amnesty Law for Warlords

so it shows a few major contradictions

1) kharzai is US ally, teh warlords make up his govt, they are US ally, yet errr the Taleban's major source of funding is the drugs grown on lands controlled by these drug lords--- hmmmm some allies eh?

2) so for taleban and their foriegn guest types, its all Allah u Akbar and Islam and no music, no shaving, no schooling for girls, no this no that because in their pea brains its haraam, why..pray tell, is it halaal to sell drugs?

ullu kay pathay...I say daisy cutters all around..

Re: Afghan Amnesty Law for Warlords

It does not show much for the efforts of NATO and the international community that after all these years of big financial and military injections into Afghanistan, the government is composed of a bunch of drug barons and murdering warlords.

Re: Afghan Amnesty Law for Warlords

There is not much else in afghan leadership, you have the drug/war lords or you have the mad mullahs. thats it.
