Aerobics VS Yoga

I think i need to change my work out routine because maybe my weight is stuck cuz of that?! Otherwise i see no reason because i m working out regularly and eating wisely.

Anyway, so what do you recommend? Should i take up yoga classes or aerobics? My aim is to have a well toned body and at the same time go easy on the scale.

So what do you think? And how many days shud i do it combined with gym?

Re: Aerobics VS Yoga

The trouble is i can do both but then where do i fit the cardio?! lol so messy. Help me!!!

Re: Aerobics VS Yoga

this is kinda off topic but i remember we went to this fitness thing at a local gym with our secondary school a couple of years ago and they made us do some yoga there and OMG when i woke up the next morning EVERY muscle in my body hurtttttttttttttt so much :( .. but yeah, aerobics is fun :D

Re: Aerobics VS Yoga

Try a combination of pilates and cardio...pilates at least 3 days a week for an hour.

Re: Aerobics VS Yoga

pilates not available in my area so yah no....:(

Re: Aerobics VS Yoga

aerobics is fun , yoga is boring. both are effective you can choose any but never do both of them together.

I would go for aerobics

Do you workout at home? I know they offer Mari Windsor Pilates DVDs you can do at home.

Its faster and more intense than yoga.

Re: Aerobics VS Yoga

No i go to a gym for cardio 6 days a week but seems like my weight loss has come to a halt :(

Re: Aerobics VS Yoga

Yoga is very calming for mind and body but it's not meant to help towards quick weight loss. If I were you I would continue to do aerobics and add yoga at a different part of the day.

Re: Aerobics VS Yoga

i love yoga n pilates. do both. sometimes i do both in the same day.

when i exercise. sigh

Re: Aerobics VS Yoga

thank u guys for yr suggestion, views :)

This happens a lotttttttttttt! Its called plateauing (sp?)

Basically, your body has gotten used to whatever it is you're doing and isnt working hard enough to burn calories. Its either that or you're consuming the same amount of calories you're burning.

Have you ever tried the Body for Life program? Thats really nice for people who come across a plateau. Also, circuit training or some sort of Boot Camp program helps.

In your case, aerobics is probably a better bet. Not pilates.

Re: Aerobics VS Yoga

If you have reached a plateau, your best bet is to stop the diet for a week.... don't exercise (you won't put any weight on), eat normally.... and when you start exercising and eating healthily again, you will have kick started your body into losing weight again.... usually works for most pple

Re: Aerobics VS Yoga
