I saw the trailer and this movie doesn’t look good. Theron just does’nt have the intrinsic edge expected in Aeon. Aeon Flux fans will be disappointed.

I'm too young to know the character of Aeon Flux but damn CT look sexy in her new look. I am looking forward to this movie and the one she's starting as a mine worker in "North Country."

In the early 90s, MTV aired an animation show called Liquid Television. The program showcased some cutting edge animation and one of the (silent) animations was called Aeon Flux – Aeon is the female assasin. The animation was widely praised and Peter Chung, the creator of the original animation, created more episodes. Needlessly to say the fan base grew as the story line was very engaging. Later episodes marked a style shfit in the show: Aeon Flux spoke. I don’t remember exactly how the show ended as I stopped watching tv a long time ago. However, I enjoyed the silent episodes more than the ones with dialogues. Although the lines were catchy in the ‘spoken’ episodes, the silent episodes were more dramatic.
Regardless of her gender, Aeon was an assasin. Mission came first, rest was secondary. The character believes that end justify the means. She is ruthless and edgy. Keeping all this in mind, I just don’t see CT delivering a performance that conveys those attributes. I have seen the trailer and she looks soft. There is a scene where she is dressed as a (virginal) sacrificial maiden in a temple. She looks pure, and ethereal! Aeon Flux is anything but…
Who’d make a great Aeon? Jennifer Garner. Femke Jansen. Natasha Henstridge (from Species) – only if she could act. 
Pepsi made a commercial in which Cindy Crawford played Aoen Flux and Malcom MacDowell played Trevor Goodchild. It was cute.

Jennifer Garner would have been a realistic choice. She's proven herself as an martial art artist in Alias, Daredevil and Elektra.
Some great movies are coming out in last two months of the year and certainly Aeon Flux is on my list.
