Advice you would give your younger self

With age comes supposed wisdom, and if not wisdom, then at least experience.

Many of us are no longer in our teens, but if the adult you could talk to the younger you - based on what you have seen and know and done, what advice would you give your younger self (let’s say the girl or boy you were at 15)?

This is what I would tell Sehrysh at 15 and would hope that she would listen or at least consider the advice:

*Don’t make decisions based on what others think is right, make decisions based on what you feel is right. Your choices won’t always be right, and you will make mistakes, but with mistakes comes personal growth.

Oh, and remember to take time out for the absurd - life shouldn’t always be too serious.*

I just wish I could go back in time and do things differently sighs

Re: Advice you would give your younger self

I’d prescribe a dose of pragmatism and try to knock some sense into that idealistic imprudent guy...

  1. Don’t expect or count on model behavior even from people you regard and idealize.
  2. No matter how much you do, you’ll always fall short on someone’s measure… don’t kill yourself trying to please everyone.
  3. Most of all… Let Life Happen… don’t try to shape and mould every facet of life or try to uncurl every contour on your path – leave some things to providence.

Re: Advice you would give your younger self

1- Dont believe in Fairy tales ever ! they are lies .. people are monsters within

2- Kill your anger , it hurts you and others around you .. the best strategy to wage a war against anyone is to remain calm and let your brain concentrate on the thinking part ..

3- Learn self defense techniques as best as you can and break their bones mercilessly if they hurt you.

Coming from a highly qualified and accomplished PhD professor, this does not apply to the slackers, people. :D

Re: Advice you would give your younger self

Nope, it's just that I like the subject. But no remorses because I would have chosen engineering no matter what, because medicine requires a lot of memorization and I'm not good at that. And Physics and Mathematics were too damn interesting, two subjects pre-med students have a natural aversion to.
