Advice on this dress please!

I have a cousin’s wedding coming up and I wanted to get a replica made of this, but it’s TOO heavy. If you could reduce some kaam on it, what would it be? Would you change the color? (not sure if I should wear red to a wedding the bride will be wearing red to) If someone has made a replica of this, please post a picture.

Also, I don’t know if it’s ok to ask this here, but I don’t know where else to. I know GS has some home-based designers and there’s a review thread for each. But they’ve had bad reviews time to time. So how would you pick one? This will be my first time getting in touch with the designer and I don’t think I can afford to have a designer mess up a dress.

Re: Advice on this dress please!

Remove or reduce the kaam on the inside like this:

If its still too much reduce the length of the kaam along the botton and carry the lines down instead.

You can opt to get the replica made in a different color instead of red if you are concerned about wearing the same color as the bride.

Look at the outside part of the dress. From the bust-area you have these ropes or strands of embroidery....which look like stripes.....and they lead to about where the model's thighs or knees are....and from there is just becomes a huge mesh of gold kaam that reaches the feet. If I had to reduce the kaam, I would eliminate THIS gold mesh....because that's the heaviest part of the dress. In place if that, I would tell the designer to simply continue the rope/strand-like pattern all the way to the bottom of the dress....and that way the dress will look simpler.

Or you can do as Uzzy suggested and keep the inside plain. But I don't think the design patter of the inside frock is as heavy as the gold mesh on the outer shirt that starts from the knees. If you're gonna add sleeves then keep them simple.

^ That's what I was thinking. I actually love the inside of the dress, it's the bottom of the outside that's too much. What if I was to also get rid of all that kaam at the top around the neck and chest? So it would be just the red material but around the neck and waist, there would be the silver/golden piping and it could be a little thick.

Color's the problem. Any suggestion for the colors? Something that would look good with this color of kaam.

You can reduce the kaam from that area too, but agar na bhi karo…it would be fine. Do you see how the shape of the gala …starting from the collar…and how it opens into an eye-shape…leading to the chest. You can just have some light embroidery done on the outside border of the eye-shaped gala instead of having kaam on the entire chest area. That’s an idea that came to mind.

There are several color options that I think would look pretty. Such as peach.

Such as the peach shade in this Bunto dress:

Bottle green would look beautiful as well.

Mauve or a tea pink.

You can even experiment with various shades of purple…ranging from dark purple to a pastel shade…lavender/lilac etc. Or a dark…blue.

My top two color picks would be peach or bote green.
