Re: Advice on loose curls!

Depends if you want waves, wavey curls, loose curls or big fat curls.... u usually tong or use rollers on your hair and then apply a bit of the fixing spritz/spray to get it to hold all day... also hair should be freshly washed/clean with no styling products before you curl them.

Re: Advice on loose curls!

Sunnie, you havent told us what sort of hair you have?

Curling and keeping curls for a longer period of time depends on how well your hair will hold the curl.

If your hair is dead straight then you'll have to use rollers, the size of which depends on how big or small curl you want.

My hair is wavy/curly, all i have to do is twist it around my finger and pin it with bobby pins while I apply makeup and it curls nicely and stays curly for a long time.

Re: Advice on loose curls!

My hair is just below the shoulders - hair is not dead straight! I would love to use rollers but i dont know how to! I mean i have seen rollers being sold in packets but they are for old ladies...advise me on the best ones! And what spritz pritz etc etc to use!

P.s - Moi residing in UK!

Re: Advice on loose curls!

^^
You want to try using the Revlon Rollers as they'r pretty good - u have to use them on damp clean hair and then roll each section of hair in a roller and to speed up process, add bit of fixing spray/hair spray around hair then give it a light blitz of air using a hairdryer on warm or cool setting... at d end when hair is dead dry and rollers are ready to be opened, tilt your head forward and open one roller at a time then shake head to let the curls loosen... and style in your preferred way - i.e. parting and then spritz wid a setting spray - u can get these from Boots /Superdrug - Toni & Guy, Vidal Sasoon, Pantene, L'Oreal are a few to name... good luck!

Re: Advice on loose curls!

A Barrel Roller will give u really good ones...Use the 2nd last to the biggest...I think its 1 i/2 inch one...use a serum or ..maybe an afterparty creme from TIGI works well for me.
Layer your hair in abt 3-5 sections...All of the lower hair roll them outwards and the last inside.

Re: Advice on loose curls!

Oh so kind of you ladies - even though i dont want spend anymore money - i will have a look!

Ask99, which barrel roller are you talking about? What make is it? Help in getting these products!

even a revelon one would work too:).

This product u can use after washing and just a small amount also protects your hair from damage from styling tools.
And the iron needs to be used on dry hair. Use 1-2 inche sections when u curl them. Hope this helps

Re: Advice on loose curls!

So get a round brush and blow dry your hair. Twist your hair around the brush and let it down, so it'll look like you put rollers in it but more natural and stuff. Then just spray some frizz stuff on your hair. You can basically do anything with a round brush providing you got skillz. AND your hair looks thicker and has more bounce

Re: Advice on loose curls!

u know what works for me, is if i make alot smaller, tighter curls and then comb them out so they’re not that poodle-y… big girls look kinda messy on me :halo:

Re: Advice on loose curls!

i need to know how to get the crunchy hair look..its almost like curls..but just messy-er

Re: Advice on loose curls!

when i got curls done for a wedding in canada, the guy put lots of mousse in my hair first and then rollers. my hair is really long and the curls didn't really stay put even after 2 hours of rollers so he just used the curling iron at the end and that worked better. i had curls/waves in my hair until the next 2 days :)

Re: Advice on loose curls!

I think u mean d loose big curls/crunchy waves - you achieve this by applying mousse to dry hair then curling sections of your hair with your usual hair straighteners - result is wicked!

Re: Advice on loose curls!

Sunnie I am not good with rollers myself, have you tried using the curling iron??

Aaana, you need to invest in a good diffuser, its this round thing with fingers that you attach infront of the hairdryer nozzle.
Put plenty of mousse in the hair, then use the diffuser to dry 'em

Re: Advice on loose curls!

I have got a iron that i have posted a pic of above with slide like shape on it (dont know how else to describe it) but that gives tight curls!

Btw - how does the diffuser work? Do you just turn it on and keep it in one place on the head and let it do the work or you have to move it around?

Re: Advice on loose curls!

Irons come in all sorts of diameters. If you want looser curls then look for something with a thick rod, After curling your hair remember to brush 'em out so they dont sit as individual curls and look unatural.

With diffuser you mousse towel dry hair, then flip your head down, and use the diffuser nozzle as you'd your fingers to scrunch up your hair

Re: Advice on loose curls!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh!!!:smack: It seems all too complicated to me! I am just going to stick to my hair strightner which is my pride possession! I usually curl my hair with and then use Loreal hairspray! Easy solution!

Re: Advice on loose curls!

I remember i went for lose curls once - but my hair is so straight that the curls disappeared like they never even existed even before i went home..
