I need some latest advice on clothes from Pakistan…ASAP!!!
FIL is coming to visit us in about 2 weeks time, he has asked me if I need anything, and of course I would love him to bring some clothes for me, I have asked my SIL and shes cool to have them made for me for him to bring back. I know that flared trousers, and long shirts are in fashion at the moment, I already have a few from when I visited last year, they look nice I love this fashion, only thing is here in the UK it is getting colder now, and those flarey trousers may not be that great to wear in winter here. My question is I am having some of the suits made into trousers, is it fashion to wear shalwars too?
I was thinking to have some shalwars made as well as trousers, I need to know this soon so they can get started as time is short. Thanks is advance.
yes flared trousers are in fashion but tailored trousers ad shalwars are classic, I think go ahead and get those for bottoms, remember in most areas in pak(the fashion origin) ppl don`t have to worry about the chill. You can keep the top according to fashion, long flared to keep up with the style, but make sure the top style go with bottom. I would not get those flary long qameez or tops with shalwar though.
If some suits are with shalwar then what should the shirt style be like? SIL will do however and whatever I ask her do so I want to get this right. She is in touch as well with trends and has already suggested things to me and I trust her becasue she does wear nice stylish clothes herself, but I need to give some input from my self also.
shalwar is classic so a nice long qameez stitched tastefully will be nice, with trousers you can have superlong qameez (that are in nowadays), some with flair some without.
I dont know how frequently you wear pakistani clothes but if you dont wear shalwar qaameez every few days or couple times a week, they tend to just hang in the closet (thats what happen to me) so over few years when I wanted to cleanup I would have tons of out of fashion clothes. Then I started getting classy outfits that last me a bit, 1 out of every 3 outfits that I used to get made is acording to current trend and 2 would be classic with variations in cuts and lenghts. I hope you are understanding what I am trying to get at.
Thanks for the tips dosa chick, I know what you are getting at. I do wear shalwar kameez as well as western clothes, if I am at home then always shalwar kameez as I love them, if going out shopping etc then western. What usually happpens with me is, whenever I visit Lahore, about once a year, I have soooooo many clothes stitched that many I havn't had chance to wear and the fashion is changing again. I am not sure if I will get chance to go withing a year thats why I have extra made, as they can be my own choice . Luckily in the UK, we can get away with wearing old season clothes as the trends from PK don't come here that quick.
I think the idea of classy outfits is probabley better idea for when I go next time, perhaps not the extremem fashion trend so i can wear it longer.
