Advice Needed On Electronics

I am looking for some advice, guidance and suggestion for possible online buying of tablets for eid-gift giving.

I have nephews and nieces in pakistan ranging from 15-9 yr. I have seen that people can send gifts to pakistan through darazpk.

My question is,

  1. Is is safe to shop for such Items through daraz,-both quality and secure delivery?

  2. What would you recommend to buy for that age group, what will work fine in pakistan.

  3. Here in US, we have the option of both WiFi and Cellular through our service providers like ATT or Verizon etc. Is that how it works in pakistan too?

Also, if there are other things I need to know that I haven’t asked then please feel free to let me know

Re: Advice Needed On Electronics

1 - The website seems legit although I don't have any experience of ordering anything from them.

2 - For the age group of 9-15, the best bet would be e-readers to read books. Actually it's tricky, kids these days are more advanced. I think they should not be gifted mobile phone or gadgets as they will probably take them to their school and waste more time but if parents can keep a check then may be its ok.

3 - In Pakistan we have 3G and 4G cellular service but WiFi from service providers is not available like in US.

I have used tcsconnect to send tablet to Pakistan. Very good customer service...on one phone call they changed the shipping address.
Also Check aliexpress, they do free shipping(Rs20 u have to pay to the courier dropping package) to Pakistan but take their sweet time.

Re: Advice Needed On Electronics

Thanks for the replies :D.

ekumunng, Great idea, e-reader for kids. Which one do you recommend. If I was to get the nook ( Barns&Nobles) or Kindle, would that work?

Dhoti Main Dhamaka, which tablet did you send? I'm confused on the brands since when I checked on these sites, the only ones I recognized are the one we have here :/ .

Thanks again guys for taking the time to answers.

PS: Should I just get wi-fi or 3G-4G connectivity? or will either work?

Re: Advice Needed On Electronics

These days on most of the tablets there are ebook reader apps as well such as kindle. Sending them just the ebook readers might not work too well specially if they cant do anything else but read books. Kids these days need to do multiple things on one device.

It was a Toshiba tablet. Not bad for 5 year old as first tablet.
Check PTCL Portable hotspots. Expensive but u will have connectivity even on the road.
