I would really like to hear from guys on this issue and see what their take is on it.
A friend of mine got involved with a guy several years back. Things were going fine and almost suddenly his interest in her dropped. It was a major blow to her ego and things were kind of messy on her end. It was really tough for her to get over him.
Now, after almost 3 years, the guy messages her out of nowhere with a very standard greeting, saying hope all is well.
She's going crazy trying to figure out why he's messaging her.
I think he could be doing it to massage his own ego and to see if he can get her interested again.
Then again I could be reading too much into a simple action because I always believed that men don't overthink these kind of things.
My question is, do guys ever just say "hello" if they're not at all interested in someone? Why would they choose to initiate contact with someone they weren't interested in?
Your question is vague.
Just saying hello does not mean the guy is interested.
Did you mean re-initiate contact?
If this was the question then yes he seems interested again to know how she is. No need to read too much of it until his intention is fully revealed.
The ball is in her court.
If she likes him still, and willing to take chance, then she could return the hello with the understanding he may disappear again or... he may stay with remorseful thoughts. One can never know. The answer to his message can be simple initially if she still likes him by saying "All is well. How about you?" Then it goes after what he writes her back. No need to reveal her condition or intention.
If she does not like him then no need to respond. Find a consistent man.
Diwanay…maaf karna…but the winking smiliey avatar is annoying. Maybe because it’s waaay tooooo happy. And when I look at it, I think of a gas station for some reason. I picture it winking at you as you drive off into the sunset after filling your gas tank.

Genuinely sorry, I could not find connection between such a happy avatar and gas station and driving off on sunset. Does this mean, haha you are fooled by us again paying too much at the gas station? Not my intention. I just see is as a ‘khush khush’, ‘shararti’ (happy happy, naughty) avatar.

Ab jo bhi gas ki price hai......high or low.....people are going to pay it in order to get around. So, I don't see the fooling bit. I dunno....your khush baash smiley just seems like the logo sticker of some business. Dunno why gas station comes to mind.
