i plan on having a day-time photoshoot in karachi during a december winter wedding. The wedding will actually happen at night, but i really want an outdoor shoot before it.
my photographer has told me to be ready by 5 pm sharp because the sun will set by 6. Do u think it’s a good idea to get ready that early? will i stay “fresh” till the event? is an outdoor shoot a bad idea? will my hair get messy cuz of the wind (the shoot is taking place on the DHA golf course)?
I’m getting my make up and hair done from bina khan… so everything will be subtle and natural anyway. I just don’t want to look like my make up got washed off or the hair became messy,
the wedding makeup done in pakistan usually has super lasting power, due to all the layers, so you will probably be fine. make sure she-your MUA- is aware of what you are looking for and keep some lipstick as thats usually the only thing that needs to be freshened up.
I think you should consult Bina Khan about this first. She is pretty easy to talk to. May be she can offer advice for touch ups or do a bit of heavy makeup so that the colour stays on. I don't think she does bridal hair styles with open hair so hair mess up is less likely.
If your makeup artist does a good job you'll look as fresh. Of course how heavy your outfit is plays a big role in how tired you look by the end of the day. Also during the shoot don't do a lot of unnecessary walking around.
Don't know anything about how Pakistani makeup artists do the makeup. I got mines done by 5:30 due to a photo shoot, my makeup was still fine at 8:30 when the actual event started & was perfectly fine till the Rukhsati at 1:30 am.
As someone mentioned humidity in Karachi. Keep blotting sheets with you if you have oily skin & a lip liner, lipstick & lip gloss. That's all you'll most probably need for touch ups. As Mahi suggested do let your mau know what you plan. Maybe you can ask her for a touch up before the actual event starts.
I emailed Bina, no reply. Everyone's been pretty discouraging about the day time shoot.. cuz its winters and the sun sets by 5:30... and the wedding is at 9... so i've scratched the idea :(
You can compensate by having a getting ready photoshoot and having artistic bridal portraits around the venue/bridal room. What does your photographer suggest as an alternative?
Outdoor photographs taken at night seem to work just as well:
so is it really a bad idea going for outdoor photography?? :( because yes for this one has to get ready really early!! i am booking sabs for my makeup? would the makeup and hairs stay alright? as I also want some loose curls and open hairs
