Bahauddin Zakrain University has declared results of Begum Abida Hussain and Hakwani who have secured second division in their B.A Examinations. According to news item appearing on 9th of August the University has declared “in advance” results of 9 politician student candidates on the basis of Rs. 30,000 paid as “Fee” by each of them.
The son of a friend resident in middle east this year appeared in only one left over subject. His result was expected mid August. In June he got his admission papers for study in USA and applied for a usual USA visa. The US Embassy there very kindly admitted visa application with the instruction that applicant may arrange latest by end July from concerned Board in Pakistan either declaration of his result or a certificate from the Board that according to their assessment the student will possibly pass the paper given. The friend approached the Board through Overseas Pakistanis Foundation who very kind took up the matter with the Board. A written reply was received “declaring of advance result was against the policy and illegal”. The concerned Board did not tell, disclose or indicate that on payment of some special “fee” advance result can be obtained.
Few months back when the present government prescribed minimum BA Degree for contesting of elections there was a news item that some affected politicians had approached some universities to give the universities “donations”.
It is my firm belief that majority of our today’s politicians who are merely 5th or 10 class pass are much better as far as “education” is concerned compared to our today’s BA or MA. Education does not come by holding a BA MA Degree. Begum Abida Hussain a non BA (till last month) is dozens time much better “educated” than our most of MA degree holders.
The above declaration of advance result has proved a general saying “a rich and influential can do anything he wishes whereas for poor laws & procedures become a big wall”. Advance results on special fees, though legally and may be well prescribed earlier and not enacted in recently months, might open new ideas for innovative people to establish “factories” where rich or needy for any future election condition of MA MN (Hons) Degree might pay a “special prescribed fee for holding exclusive examination for one single student” where student while will enjoy a 3 hours video over a cup of tea in the drawing room the “factory owner’s staff” will be doing the examination paper. It might appear to be a stupid thinking of mine but one should not wonder if very soon we see such ”factories” materialised.
