A friend of mine’s been noticing breakouts along her jaw line, close to ears, some on forehead. She uses prescription anti dandruff shampoo so that’s under control.
Could you please suggest some treatments/remedies. Thanks.

Hair away from face - that is one cause of acne on the forehead, close to ears, jawline, etc. I use product in my hair sometimes and if it touches my face a lot...I will start to get a few pimples.
Water - tons of it.
Food and drink - certain food may not be good for you. For instance, I cant eat a lot of eggs or chocolate and cant drink a lot of pop or coffee. If you eat a lot of fast food, that can cause it too. I know it sounds crazy to some but I get fewer breakouts if I watch my diet.
Aside from that, Ive been using some medicated creams from my derm...Duac at night.

a few years back i got a really bad reaction to something (i still dont know what), any how since then, i got really bad acne on my jawline and neck.
it became itchy, red and irritating i went to doctors and they gave me a number of tablets which i tried out didnt work,
its been about a year since i have been using tablets called "Doxycycline" and i take it once a day and the acne has completly gone away. only cons are if i was to get pregnant my babies teeth will be permantly black and yellow (lol weird i knw) but for now its ok coz im not married :D

Not necessarily due to the shampoo, could be just adult acne that most women get around the age of 30.
How bad is the acne?? There is a medicine which specifically targets such acne but you'll have to give me more info.

It doesn't seem too bad too me but she says that the breakouts are often painful. She gets 3-4 at a time but they shrink in a couple of days. However, they are leaving scars I believe.

It's the only cleanser I have been using in the past 2 years and it works REALLY good. She can get it at Sephora and they even have small ones she can try out for a month.

Sometimes when soap is left in those areas, one might experience break out. So I would say after washing her face maybe she should wipe it off nicely all around with a paper towel or tissue paper.
The sites where she's breaking-out is uncommon but if it's adult acne, she shud use a medicated facewash and show a derm that cud prescribe her medicine.. please have it treated to avoid scars.

Aso she should use hypo-allergenic pruducts which have no purfume or alcohol e.g. Clinque and boots no7. :)

The fact that the breakout is on the jaw, chin and forehead doesnt necessarily mean tht her skin is breaking out due to the shampoo.
If thats the case then she should consult her doctor to get another shampoo.
Adult acne in females usually does happen on the forehead, chin and jaw area, it could be bacteria effected too cause you are saying its painful when flared.
She should see a dermatologist as soon as possible! It shouldnt be delayed...because if she gets scars once, she wont be able to get rid of them completely...ever!
