You’re not alone! I’ve used a variety of shop bought jars and I can tell you that there are some really awful ones out there but there’s one particular brand that I find perfectly fine to use. It’s by Natco with a pink sticker across the front. It doesn’t stink like the others and it tastes just like fresh onion and garlic. It really depends on you. I found it too long to peel and grind ginger and garlic, especially if I’ve just got home from work.
I even tried to slice onions once and freeze them (it doesn’t quite work and stinks up the entire kitchen every time you open the freezer!)
