Adopting From Pakistan

Re: Adopting From Pakistan

Don’t rely on a documentary to find out what the laws are in your state in regards to adoption. If you’re serious about it, contact the proper agencies and find out the specific guidelines/requirements.

They can not prevent you from adopting a child b/c of your religion. That’s illegal.

Once you adopt a child, that child is yours. As far as the law is concerned, that child is not expected to be treated any differently that how the law allows you to treat your own child. And that includes raising that child in ANY faith you want him/her raised in.

Obviously this can be an issue if you adopt an older child (who may have been raised with specific religious beliefs already)…but I don’t think that’s what we’re talking about here. If you adopt a newborn/toddler…once the adoption is final…legally no one can stop you from raising YOUR child as a Muslim (or a Hindu, Baptist, Catholic etc).
