Here is a report from today’s Dawn…its very very sad but has further info on adoption and the hold that the gov’t has put on all adoptions:

I’m sure that, in time, adoptions will resume. THese poor little amputees are the ones who will be most in need of western families, where they can get the support and the technology available here so that they can thrive.
In the meantime, maybe think about supporting organizations who help these little ones. I’d like to suggest to the gov’t that since there is such an overwhelming number of people wanting to adopt maybe they could set up a “sponsor a child” type of fund, where you send your donations for a specific child, receive updates on their progress etc. There are funds like this which are run the the UN but not specific to earthquake orphans…
