Adopting A Child from Abroad

Re: Adopting A Child from Abroad

if its an abandoned child, which most are in orphanages, u don’t know their last names. The issue with last name was because in those days there was no other real way to track lineage. perfectly okay to give them your last name, as long as you don’t hide that they are not biologically yours.

as far as inheritance goes, the next of kins can give up their claim to inheritance in favor of the child.

As i have stated before on this forum, the reason and logic has to be seen. otherwise it will end up in situation like the one where an adopted/fostered/(whatever sanctioned term works about a couple raising a kid not related to them works, will use adopted here for simplicity sake) child was left alone because the couple who had brought her into their life died in a car crash. Since the little child had no claim islamically, the late father-figures siblings took over everything and booted her.

luckily, the friends of the deceased had more sense and compassions and she is being raised by one of the family friends of the people who had adopted her.
