If I didn’t have children I perhaps may have considered it but islamically there are lot’s of things that we need to take into consideration , like if you later do have a child of your own then they are non mehram ( if opposite sex) to the adopted child so it would make things complicated. Alsi the things said by Khalil Khan above.
It is sad though to see these children in orphanages…my heart goes out to them.

If you’re the sort of person who is living in or ok with the joint family system where your kids are mingling with their cousins etc. really there is no difference in terms of the non mehram issue..
