Plenty of artists have gone across the border becuase of better facilities, better publicity and, most of all, more cash. But please do not tell me that you need Indian citizenship to promote your music in India and across the world. Let's face it. He's a complete traitor. Of course, he has his reasons. What happened with his marriage and his child being handed over to Zeba, it could be plausible that he decided to go for Indian citizenship just to snub Paki gov't and justice for their decision on his kid. But, sorry to say, that's kind of childish - ya know, disowning one's own background to get back at the paki government.

That was Sangam - the Paki gov't forced Sami to replace Asha's voice with a paki's (Hadiqa Kiani) for the film soundtrack. The album could still be found on the market with Asha's voice. However, if you went to the movie theatre - the song's were in Hadiqa's voice. I suppose Sami was okay with this since, in his pop version of the album, Hadiqa's voice was featured in like 2 songs, while Asha's voice was featured in the other songs. But now, producers like Sajjad Gul (the only producer who happens to have a faint idea of what he's doing), have brought in Indian vocals into Paki movies - ex. Tere Pyar Mein, Ghar Kab Aao Gay - and you can see Shaan lip-synching to Kumar Sanu's voice in paki cinemas. How did Sajjad Gul get away with it? If you take a look at the casettes and movie credits, you will see the name "Faisal" in place of "Kumar Sanu". The whole nation was fooled for a while into thinking that these were really Paki singers. But, of course, Paki citizens do have the instinct to know when they're being fooled. Same goes with Kavita Khrisnamurti who did vocals for the recent hit - Tere Pyar Mein (the songs of which, by the way, are good). Kavita's name was changed to "Aisha Khan". Too bad Sami wasn't smart enough to pull of something like that. But then again, if he had been chalaak like Sajjad Gul - then we wouldn't have Hadiqa Kiani!

I don't think he likes the idea of pulling it off and being Chalaak, actually it is pathetic that artists have to lie to get over the hate for anything Indian.
Most artists will like to operate in an enviornment that offers them freedom and honesty to pursue their art.
well i don't care where he livez..india / pakistan...i appreciate his talent and music...his health is not my concern...abt that "sargam" movie songs...those were originally recorded by hadiqa but then later adnan ask asha to sing same songz 4 the movie..i have both albumz..by hadiqa & asha...hadiqa herself was unware of the change until the release of the movie...and PCG is rite abt these latest moviez...they have used fake namez to fool ppl when infact these songz are by indian singerz...filmz like "tere pyar mein"..."gher kab aao ge"..."khaye ho tum kahan"..etc...and just recently afzal ahmed have accepted an offer to work in an indian movie...and list goes on...this is not a new thing...many actorz are willing to work in indian moviez...all they need is an offer from bollywood...

Has anyone thought that the reason his music wasnt so appreciated in PAK was because of the lack of distribution. I mena GODDD asha and sami made it to the USA in no time.. but till this day I have a hard time finding sami's older albums (the ones he did in Pakistan). The solution is not for him to leave his motherland rather help it...

I'm not familiar with the Indian and Paki pop culture but thought that if there is more career opportunity in India then why doesn't he go there but why change citizenship? I'm sure people can live in India and work there without becoming citizens.
Now, why would he want to spite Pakis? If he's doing this to spite, isn't he such an embarassment to his family and himself?
This is very disappointing / disgusting that a man decides to seek citizenship of another country (though a rival, and a rumour if it is), people start calling him names, look at and critcize his physic. Why can't you guys learn ettiquettes if you can't live by religious moral codes?
We can learn to log on to internet in a matter of few minutes, we can write tons of emails, post our views, but very hard to learn to respect anyone's idea. Why did we all have to see that he is fat? did he eat from your pie? your plate? your burger? heck no, then shut up.
If he really decided to go to India, I pray that all other actors, singers, actresses, singeresses (correct me) to go to India too, please make Pakistan a "PAKistan".
Lets assume that Adnan Sami is going to India for sake of getting contracts to sing, write, play music for songs, whats wrong with you guys? Most of you will be listening to him anyway one way or the other.
Does nationality mean anything to you when you watch Indian movies? listen to Indian songs? go to Indian concerts? take pride in taking pictures with Indian actors and actresses???
