nobody forced him.He came to India on his own and as per newspaper reports,he met the Home minister of India and has requested for citizenship of India.I dont know why.

Seems Adnan sami has fallen for greed and money but that is not all.
To be fair, he wasnt treated well in Pakistan. His son was taken away from him unfailry and given to Zeba bakhtiaar, when it was his right to claim the son. His family was maligned and insulted in media through the powerful lobby Bakhtiar family has. And he residing in London, couldnt help his case and when he came back to do that, he felt he was betrayed. I still remember then in a show arranged by a recording company, he started crying after performing the song 'kabhi tu nazar milao' and all top artistis gave him a standing ovation. And all he could say was ' I missed you all' It was a touching moment. Soon after he lost his case for his son and went to india.
Though it doesnt give him the license to turn his back to his people but he feels he is justified to do that.
and like PT said. wherever he goes, Paki identity will follow him ;)
according to his statement,

he doesn't seem like a Pakistani to me at all.

Ahh c'mon, he's not worth all this fuss. The guy's no great singer. If he wasn't a defector he probably wouldn't land a job as Humpty Dumpty in India. It's just novelty value IMO.

As I remeber she was Pakistani (she died this year)…
