Men should say “aap” to their wives too.. if that shows respect .. 
ok joking but I really don’t think the term aap vs. tum has anything to do with respect… just my opinion..
I can say “aap to ullu ke pathay hain” or say “tum to bohat izzat dar aadmi ho”
know what i mean!
