Acupuncture

I have two questions to any who’s been through acupuncture:

What was it like?

And

Do you know any good acupuncturists in the Toronto-area?

Thanks.

Acupuncture’s pressure i guess depends on what treatment u r getting.
for sum probs the pressures not much..bearable.
But for some , there is a hard poke of a pointy object..like a pen..even needles insome cases..so..Ouch :bummer:

Dunno about toronto

I had acupuncture during pregnancy to ease morning sickness and it seemed to do the trick. I suppose it must depend a lot on what you want to achieve from it.

I'm sure someone will be able to recommend a practicioner in Toronto for you.

I've never had it done on myself but I've seen my cousin get it done. She had severe headaches and the docs recommended acupuncture. She said it hurt in certains areas a lot more than others. She usually needed someone to distract her while the doctor 'poked' needles in her. So it'd help if you took someone with you for your appointment.

One word: O U C H!

Forgot to mention, it's for Ammi. :)

Thanks monasha, shahreen and CB. CB, did your cousin get the treatement in Toronto? if so, can you tell me where from? Thanks

^^ ditto
i had of migrains and sinus..it hurt like hell when the doc poked on the soft part of the palm beneath the thumb. Thats the worst spot.

it does effect immediately though

I didn't find that it hurt much actually, all I felt was a little prick (no jokes) when the needle went in but as Monasha says, the effects are immediate.

But if you really are scared of needles then you could try acupressure instead, whereby instead on needles they apply pressure on the prrssure points instead.
