Not all though. the point is that syeds, like all others are prone to making the same mistakes and errors and can have the same weanesses as others.

Got it.. but then why are they Syeds? And why do they claim their heritage to be special? I always thought Syeds are special cuz of their lineage and always respected them all my life but to learn they can make same mistakes as we so called "common" human beings can makes me feel lil upset... what makes them special then? Nothing?

the guidance of that comes from our religion itself..
no one has any preference on anyone, except for their taqwa.
and taqwa is in your actions, in your approach, not in your lineage.

:k: true- Infact you are talking very much like a sunni scholar I used to frequent in Lahore . You’re ansolutely right! there are things in our religion that we dont fully understand -like these Syeds you mentioned who claim their ancestry but nothing is visible in their actions.. or anyone who claims special status should be willing to submit himself/herself to the god and should be known by his actions and good deeds not his name.
