Your fiance, husband, potential rishta absolutely hates. Like going out dancing or any activity that requires two people. Are you supposed imagine a life without that activity or doing it without him or going with someone else possibly? Should you feel like you have to give it up for him? Thats how couples in the olden days did it. I don’t know how to approach big differences that might exist.

:p Partner dancing or folk dancing. I learned the different types but I don't see any desi man liking dancing. I love it so it would be like even if I might possibly have a life partner in terms of something I really love, he would never come with me. Going with anyone else would be like I was unfaithful(as weird as that might sound since we're talking abt dancing)

Going out dancing is not a hobby. It's awarapan. :p Why would a sensible person object to a productive hobby? If someone really enjoyed dancing, why not dance for your spouse or with your spouse?

If the fiance/spouse refuses to participate in the activity, then do it with someone else. Unless this activity is someone related to sex, I'm not sure why the other person would object to it IF they refuse to participate.

I enjoy hypermiling. But the wife always is screaming while I am coasting towards a light 400 meters away that just turned red, with foot off the gas pedal and cars behind getting impatient.
Is it OK for me to do hypermiling with another person?

We used to love dancing and then we had kids and now they make us dance to their tunes, Caribbean dancing is so amazing. I love the outdoors and my wife absolutely refused to participate, one day I packed up the kids and said to her that we are going and if she wants she can come with us we have space for one and she came running and she absolutely loved camping with us. After a while you get used to bugs crawling on your face.

Desi men or not, men love seeing their woman dance. I am a secret belly dancer, Mr. Theorist enjoys it immensely whenever I put on a show for him. Nobody else knows I belly dance. Lol. Maybe try a different kind of dance and enjoy that? You are right, Desi men won't approve of you dancing with another man. Unless you are a professional dancer, I don't see that happening.

That is true but knowing their gf/wife/fiance loves partner dancing and this is her hobby, they are a bit more understanding than most Desi men.

I take Mrs. Chaudhry Sahab to dancing once is a good while! I am desi and I like dancing, well more seeing now than actually doing it.

My whole point is how much does one need to change, give up and adjust to get that special "married" status. Traditional desi men might look down on a woman liking partner dancing like ballroom or latin dance. Going alone tends to be depressing because i just watch other couples enjoying dancing together.

Well I am no expert but I think simple answer is that you find the one who agrees to this, meaning, before getting in to r/s or marriage confirm if the guy conforms to this and if you are not finding desi guy, I dont think thats the end of the word.
On lighter note, thats what I tell Mrs. Chaudhry Sahab that being a minority type desi man, I should have more wives so I can spread the wealth :) but Mrs. Chaudhry Sahab generally gets quite mad it it, no clue why since she believes in betterment of women.

Well...in my friend's wedding..i performed choreographed dancing..we put a whole show. Had so much fun and everyone loved it!. And now at my youngest sister's wedding too..performing professional choreographed dance this time with all friends. But i do enjoy these activities a balanced way in a wedding. I do think that...one should be able to be happy without anyone being judgmental.

My Mum always used to say what if the guy I married didn't like pets cause I love animals but I knew I wouldn't be happy with someone like that anyway..

If I am not passionate about my marriage more than everything else, then how will I have a great married life? If my other passions are so important that the lack of my spouse's interest in them is causing problems for me, then I have bigger problems than what I think I have.
