i m the only one among friends who use forums like gupshup. all of my friends r of opinion that my usage of internet especially forums is a big waste of time for a medical student like me.

If you're going to be reading and posting poor quality material, then yeah it's a huge waste of time - if you're lucky enough to spot a few bright posters and participate in a little more intellectually advanced threads/forums then no it's not a waste of time - knowledge is power.
Moderation is key though - GS could be super addictive.

It's pretty normal marwati... people who haven't experienced virtual communities find it hard to grasp that people spend so much time here. Many of my colleagues and friends are the same way. What I tell them is that we all enjoy different things... while they might like to go out after work for a drink and a chat, I like engaging in discussions online.

I learnalot from this site there are some really knowledgeable posters here and world and Pak affair forum is really nice because especially for Pak forum i don't have to go jang ,dawn etc allis collected inthat forum.:D
Anyways the point is it depends on you if you want to gain knowledge from here.

With 131 posts, I hardly think you've spent too much time on gupshup.

As a ex-student myself, there are lots of things more dangerous and deterimental than hyper-ventilating on a forum. At the least it is not a cause for a headache & embarrassment the next morning:)

If u have anything else to do, then junk GS.
But then occasionally pass by through my blogs. I am trying some interesting stuff i guess. But GS, dump GS.

ya but mostly reads threads or do search in older threads. when i see a member with 5000-10000 or above posts, i become surprized how he managed to get time for the activity?

I don’t think it is.. I’ve learnt so much from this place 
But when you get addicted, and are on GS when you should be doing something else, thats a waste
