Activities to do on the cheap with little ones?

I’'ve done a quick search and couldn’t find a thread similar so I thought I’d start one. With all the doom and gloom of the recession still about, I thought parents/carers could share their chosen list of activities they do with their little one that don’t cost the earth but are worth looking into for others too.

I’ll start:

Childen Centres (Stay and Plays, short courses etc often free as they are government run in the UK).

Children’s storytime at the local library (free)

Feeding the ducks at the local park (cost-loaf of bread)

Picnic in the park (cost-sandwiches, a drink etc-basically the same as if you were home if you back up your usual lunch)

Play dates at others houses (cost-possibly tea/coffees/cakes but you take it in turn to host)

Walks (in all weather) fresh air is lovely-and free too. Older children can collect leaves, conkers and so on and create artwork too.

Anyone else want to share their ideas?
