Acting schools of Pakistan?

ok i get the inspiration of this thread from Arjay’s comment on Humayyun Saeed and Seema ghazal that do we have Acting School’s in Pakistan?

how can we base anyone’s skills of acting or writing when we dont have any certification exist? besides viewers are usually are attracted to glamour. (just put saris and latest lines and it will be HIT!)

besides is there any one doing for upcoming actors-actresses-director-screen players or they all are preserving their assets (only by having their boutiques, salon etc).

do we see anyone grooming their kids (even of they are not having plans to have their own Drama-film school)…like the way we see in certain Music-gharana where they dont pass on their secret of success to anyone except their son or nephews.

or the entire country is running on “Sano Kee!”

Re: Acting schools of Pakistan?

I think education is very important. And equally important are commitment, passion and professionalism. Anybody who violates them has no right to be in this profession. If you decide to be in this profession than at least follow it's ethics and fulfill all its requirements.

I think a lot of our actors/writers today are very commercial and business minded. they can even steal from others to keep their business running smoothly.

i agree with you that education is important. we can also not neglect the aspect that education and then getting education in english medium has turned in to status symbol. we cant really put education and knowledge on the same level.

on the other hand even west dont use any such parameter to judge anyones skills. sometimes you have to be technical and for that they made proper institutions where one may get their designated education based on techniques i.e. film making, acting etc.
so can we conclude that Pakistan dont have any such institution?
and when our governing body will feel the need that we also need to have such institutions?

Re: Acting schools of Pakistan?

Acting schools are probably important to develop talent, but at a much lower level, how many schools have drama classes? My school would have the occasional school play, but it was just people having fun. There was no direction or anything. I imagine this is common in other schools also. Maybe some schools do have classes, but the vast majority don't. To actually teach people, and develop talent, classes in school are necessary. Then, we can take it to the next level with acting schools.
