i had it throughout my teen years, and i damaged my skin pretty bad trying to get rid of it using all the face washes and creams at that time. mine went away itself a couple of years back, but i still have very light pink scars left on my cheeks ... the best way to get rid of acne is to keep your skin clean and moisturized and to not use any over the counter face washes and creams ... and if u r desperate, see your derm!
my skin was so bad that my dermatologist was probably afraid to prescribe anything to me, so i was told the same thing ... my skin is very very smooth now, no pimples or blackheads (thanks to my washing/exfoliating/moisturizing/no make up routine for the past two years. the scars on my face have lightened, but they r still there, and very noticeable to me. but i know for certain that no one else can notice them (i posted this in another thread but i have got really pink cheeks, so they blend right in with my skin :d)
someone told me that lemon juice helps and i started using it on the scars a couple of months ago (twice a week), but haven't seen any improvement yet.
for even tone skin, dema abrasion facial.
& makaee ka atta and malai paste mask.
seaweed facial is good too.
best thing - lots of water to clear up the skin, healthy diet with lots of fruits.
otherwise, medications from a dermatologist.
exactly.
and what you do is that you get the corn meal and mix it in malai half and half.
wash face and apply the paste for half an hour until it dries.
then wash again with luke warm water.
then take an ice cube and go all over the face with it to keep the pores clean and closed.
:>
I would get severe breakdown in my mid teen to late teens. My mom would get me all sorts of creams, masks (both from the store and homemade) but I am a sucker when it comes to applying stuff. The only lotion I used consistently was a Neutrogena sun block, I always had that thing in my school bag...lol... The few things I think helped me were: wiping my face with tissue paper/paper towel (BIG NO TO TOWELS), drinking lot of water and my mom would force me to eat a fruit everyday (mostly it was an apple or an orange.)
I think if I had any scars, they disappeared with time.
i found an another solution for my acne and ive notice a huge difference. multani mitti, neem powder mix w/ rose water and put on face everyday and i can't belive my face is more brighter and clear especially its good for summer who have oily skin.
After using a whole bunch of different stuff including Differin, retin a, the usual OTC stuff as well as prescription, accutane etc, i have given up. I just use a certain line that heals the acne faster when i get any, i dont worry about it anymore. I have spent wayyyy too much energy and money and in my case it runs in my family for some reason, both my siblings have it too.
^^Differin is gud, i use tht, but as for my acne tht's still active, dermatologist has put me on sum more antibioticz, suggested roaccutane, but thts the last resort of treatment n it'z too strong, 45 ppl or so hav committed suicide taking tht medication with no previous history of depression, so i sed no to tht!
I guess it will go away with time...altho itz an awful thing to hav to put up with...i hate it grrr!!
i never had real bad acne until like a month before my wedding u can imagine the stress newayz thru out my teens i had mild really mild acne on my rte cheek wid an occasional big spot on the forehead but then all of a sudden a month before wedding i had tiny spots alll over my facee wid big spots on the side of cheeks it ws horrible.
i must have spent a fortune on cream i used clearasil , neutrogena , biore . toners , moisturizers , salilyc acid and a whole range of desi creams and home made stuff but nothing worked however when i gt to pakistan i gt two facials done and used this ,mix of creams n voila mys kin ws clear. now after marriage i dont get spots anymore ,thank god.
i found blemish gel wid sage n comfrey from d body shop worked well on spts but theyve discontinued it recently... have recently tried freederm which is not too bad
