Re: Acne scars

Garnier light mosturiser helps to some extent..

Re: Acne scars

Try Differin, it's a cream that is prescribed by doctors. It worked well for me.. But i guess it depends on deep and bad your scars are. Also try putting lemon juice on face and also Palmer's cocoa butter oil. i had acne and when it went off it left scars. took 6-8 mths to clear. and i was one with flawless skin. so i guess give it time :)

Re: Acne scars

Professional microdermabrasion. It's helped to diminish my scars that were a result of acne and an accident. Of course the microderm was in conjunction with chemical peels....but since you're not interested in peels....I would suggest micro.

Anything else...such as a commerical product or cream will just take longer (if ever) to produce results. Scars tend to be permanent...you need a treatment that will be aggressive enough to penetrate the several layers of your skin and really work that scar tissue. It's hard to find that with commerical products. One thing that comes to mind which you can try is Mederma...some people have used it for acne scars. It will take some time and consistency.

Re: Acne scars

How bad were your scars were they deep?, i just have the odd surface scar they not deep

Were you using differin for up to 6- 8months it does it give side effects right? dryness?

and also were you using the lotion 0.1% or the gel 0.3%

thanks hun x

Re: Acne scars

Thankyou

Mederma ive heard of but im skeptical of it, i dont see the point of paying so much money if it aint going to work , only would if it does actually work

Re: Acne scars

retinol with hydroquinine WILL fade acne marks.
I would recommend skinceuticals retinol .5 with obagi blender. always start with the lower strength and u can build up to .1% of retinol. you can look up the products and read reviews. you MUST use a a sunscreen with these products or the scaring will come right back.

Re: Acne scars

Are you talking about pigmentation, or scarred pores or icepick scars?

For pigmentation, you can look into glycolic acid. Our electrologist did some treatment for my sister on her forehead where she had lots of very dark scars. She used 60% though, which is medical grade, so you need someone who knows what they are doing. For daily use, Rosehip oil is really good. It has retonic acid and vitamin C in it. Used twice daily, it fades pigmentation well and quicker.

Scarred pores... found out recently, also from our electrologist that the reason they don't heal and stay open is because of the hair in them. Permanently remove the hair (which can be very fine, and small and only visible with magnification) and the pore can heal to some degree. Healing can take 6 months to a year though. She did some of these for me and my sister.

Icepick scars... chem peels, microD, laser resurfacing, none of these work as they don't do deep enough. Even though these scars don't necessarily look deep, the damage is deep.

Re: Acne scars

what are scarred pores?

Re: Acne scars

they look like enlarged pores but they never close and are in the same places where you may have had acne/spots.

Re: Acne scars

my scars were not deep, just here and there... used differin for approx 3 months. i do use it once in a blue moon cuz the scars have not totally gone. used the 0.3% gel. :)
