Acne Scars

so im sure almost all of u have had a pimple on ur face. Does anyone know a good cream that would remove the after marks of a pimple. Like the scars left.
thanks in advance.

Re: Acne Scars

i was told by determelogist that scar will fade away after 6 mins.
my gp told me to apply vitamin E lotion on scars. i have purchased but applied few times only as it made my face very greacy.

Re: Acne Scars

my mom told me that she heard applying powdered Tylenol tablets on your acne scars helps clear them out. she heard it on the Nadia Khan Show. i don't know if that works..it sounds ridiculous..but if you're desperate, give it a try.

Re: Acne Scars

:salam:

Apply Baking Soda mixed with water on your scars for about 10 minutes. Then wash it off with vinegar, then with water.
within a few days you will :insh: see a notable difference .

Re: Acne Scars

^ is that safe? sounds like cleaning solution for household grime and grease! :D

I think there must have been some miscommunication at some point...

Tylenol won't do anything. Aspirin on the other hand, is actually derived from (but not the same as) salicylic acid, which is the active ingredient in many over the counter acne products. People say you can use a mask made from ground up aspirin pills to treat active acne (not scars), which could potentially be effective. But I don't see why you would use that as opposed to just buying a bottle of Clean & Clear.

Re: Acne Scars

As for the original question, it depends on what kind of scars you're talking about. If you mean the darkly pigmented flat spots that some people get after acne, then the best cure is time...they'll fade on their own and there's no point in wasting your money on likely ineffective treatments.

If you're talking about pitting scars that people get after bad cases of cystic acne, then I sincerely doubt that any cream or home remedy is going to help at all. The most effective treatment for that would be a series of chemical peels or dermabraison...but neither is an option unless you have very fair (essentially white/caucasian) skin. If you're medium complexioned like most Pakistani women, I'd recommend you see a dermatologist about having microdermabraison done...it's probably the most effective option for you.

Re: Acne Scars

cocoa butter is said to be good for scars.

Re: Acne Scars

thanks for ur help guys! ive also heard about asprin but heard tht its not good for some medical reason. my scars arnt bad i just have lyk two but its really bothering me. I need it to leave,

but ill figure something out and if something works ill let u guys know.

that makes sense..maybe my mom just misheard :p

how does a persons complexion make a difference?

Chemical peels and dermabraison involve using phenol or fine abrasive particles respectively to remove the outer layers of the skin. The treatments are rather harsh, and can result in changes in skin pigmentation. On fairer skinned people, these changes in pigmentation are more mild, and generally aren't very noticeable. However, in darker skinned people, it can result in blotchy, uneven pigmentation (the same way overuse of skin bleaching products can).

As a result, most dermatologists recommend against the use of full chemical peels and dermabraison on ethnic skin. Milder chemical peels, and microdermabraison are however an option for people with medium skin tones...if you're interested, my personal recommendation would be mircodermabraison.

Re: Acne Scars

buy vitamin E capsules from any drug store and take the powder or liquid from inside the capsules then mix it with any oil free cream or lotion....and apply everyday on ur face or where ever u have scars or pimples......inshallah u will see the difference in few days......

I have acne scars too. About 2 months ago, my mom started using Body Shop's vitamin E day and night creams along with their toner and cleaner. I, tried those creams and liked them since they moisturized my skin just right without making it greasy ( I've oily acne-prone skin) and I didn't experience any break-out either so I continued using them. In a month or so, I started noticing my acne scars gradually and slowly fading away and my skin feels tighter and smoother than before. So, that is something you can go for.

Also, I've heard very positive comments about rosehip oil. You can get Trilogy rosehip oil. It's potent in vitamin E and other nutrients and all pure. You may also get vitamin C capsules/serum ( I've used caryl baker's visage vitamin c serum and found it brilliant - the only reason I discontinued using it is for its price which is $85 plus tax). Body shop has vitamin C line of products.

Re: Acne Scars

mederma scar cream anyone tried that... im using this scarzone cream brought it from cvs i have notice a little diff, i m not using regualry, i think is good also contain tea tree oil.

Re: Acne Scars

ive heard from my moms friend about applying fresh aloe on ur face. Im gonna try it and let you guys know. I also bought the cetaphil face wash so lets see.
i get pimples on my face when im extremely stressed and i guess with all my exams going on and all the competetion, i forgot to take care of my skin so i currently have 2 huge little pimples tht ive picked on and now have left a scar.

There are studies out proving that creams like mederma and scar zone have **no **effect on reducing the appearance of scars.

Re: Acne Scars

a friend told me that you can now can cremes with glycolic acid...
but of course they only put a bit in it..apparently over time, your pores are tightened and your scars aren't as visible..

so far i haven't been able to find a creme, but when i do..i'll let you know/

otherwise, chemcial peeling is the option

Re: Acne Scars

^i use olay thermal skin polisher, i didn’t know it has glycolic acid in when i started using it but it apparently does. i really love it!
Olay Regenerist Thermal Skin Polisher

Miami.. using tea tree oil on the pimple should make it go away more quickly and lessens the scabbing and amount of scarring.
