Has anybody tried this regimen Benzoyl peroxide - how to make it work for you ?
How did it work ?

I used a product prescribed by a dermatologist that has benzoyl peroxide. There was lotion with it to avoid irritation. After about a week, my skin started peeling off and the face would stay red all the time and then it started irritation so much so that I had to go to the doctor again and ask him to change.

Yes I've tried it. It definitely improved my acne but won't do much for scars or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I no longer carry out the regimen because the bp was too harsh for my skin and made it dry and scaly despite the fact that I used a moisturizer.

Bp works against acne but not for the skin, but then its supposed to do what it does and we should not be complaining about that!

I actually tried it in March but I bought products by myself (so had to check in the list) and did for about 10 days.
The first 3 days were awful ! I had a lot of breakouts but the bp wasn't harsh to my skin.
On the 4th-5th day, I don't know how but the pimples were gone !
Slowly my face was red, as if it was burning (but yeah I didn't care about the dose that time).
I stopped because I didn't want to go to the uni with a face like that, at that time I just wanted to apply foundation and concealer so nothing would show.
Luckily I don't have those uggly bumps on my skin now. I have less breakouts (1-2 pimples every 3rd week or so)
Once i'd be done with my exams, I'd start again inshaAllah.

Thanks to Pro-Active, I found out the hard way that I'm severely allergic to benzoyl peroxide.
If anyone is going to try this, I highly recommend that you do a patch test on your face to make sure you're not allergic. It's took a doctor's visit and literally 1 week for my face to get back to "normal"......trust me it's not fun to find out the hard way that you can't use this ingredient.

Yup, I use it. It's getting hot here in NY and even though I have my AC on for the most part, because my skin is SO oily, I wake up with a nasty oily face and have 4-5 little pimples every morning. It's been happening this past week every morning so I was getting worried. I found my old benzoyl peroxide cream that my doc prescribed and applied it where ever I get oily, it makes those parts feel a little dry and stiff but who cares? I woke up this morning and no pimples!!! So apparently... my summer skin care regime will consist of washing my face day and night with Murads clarifying cleanser (essential for me if I want to stay pimple free), applying benzoyl peroxide on 3/4 of my face, and applying Retin-A where ever I already have pimples. Basically, benzoyl peroxide keeps me from getting pimples and Retin-A clears ones I already have.
