Im seriously dying here…i think I might overdose on TUMS…I never had acid reflux before pregnancy but since I got pregnant I’ve nad it throughout and now at 22 weeks it’s betting worse. I don’t know anyone in my family who had this problem so early in their pregnancy and no one has a good advice about it. I have bad headache but I don’t want to take anymore acetominophin especially on empty stomach cuz I’m scared it will make my heartburn from hell even worse. Is there anything out there to natrually treat this?

I had bad bad acid reflux during both my pregnancies and I took ranitidine as and when I needed without any problems Shukar! So don't worry and don't torture urself. Just take the meds and feel better dear :)

I think Zantac/ranitidine is safe to take but yes do consult your doctor. Don't suffer.

I have gone through hell with acidity reflux .. it stopped after i made some major changes to diet .. I got to a point where i would literally throw up even at the thought to talking any other chalky acidity tabs ..
Khair, drink loads of water , some foods are high in citrus element dont take them at all .. try to have little sips of chilled milk every half hour .. , try to eat as much water based fruit as possible .. your metabolism might be fast hence keep yourself full with some form of food every two hours ..
I brush my teeth every 3-4 hours .. to clear out any acidity on the tongue , thats helped alot ..
Try reducing immense intake of carbs and focus more on protein factor .. I realized that carbs like roti / rice etc were making my acidity worse , so I didnt quit completely but just reduced them a little like only with main meals .. at times when acidity is on the high, just toast a plain slice of bread , toast it properly and then just have one with plain water , that helped me too ..
Even with fruits, keep a close watch, apple was causing me acidity .. so i had to stop eating it for a while .. banana's were fine, strawberries were fine, guava, cherries, watermelon and melon were doing wonders for me ..
Eat cucumber , that is an acid buster for sure .. I have tried it .. eat dates , they are really good with acid reduction too ..
Good luck in dealing with this problem .. and one last thing, every time i went to the doc/midwife they would send me back with tums/acid regulatory meds etc .. but due to vomiting I reduced taking the tabs and limited them to two a day .. and believe me it helped .. specially with the diet change .. so yeah listen to what your body is telling you and start focusing on what you are eating ... some of the above things might work well with you...

forgot to mention , avoid all forms of tea / coffee / chocolate / fizzy drinks ..
and if you can mix a tsp full of isabgol in a glass of water or juice and drink it around mid day .. that helps as well ..

I've had to deal with acid reflux in my kid and husband... Almonds are amazing. A pregnant friend tried it and it helped heaps. 5 almonds everyday.
Other than this, take half a glass of milk, from the tap, fill it with ice cold.water...its gonna form bubbles (jhaag), let them come to the top...drink before they flatten out...this should give immediate relief.to heartburn.
One last one, take a 1/4 tsp dried.mint.or 2eaves fresh mint, add.1/4 tsp.saint and chew on this mixture. Brings releif to all.stomach gastro issues.

well strange but eating n apple helps me with acidity/ heartburn... but everyone is different
and i agree with taking milk, whenever u feel a burn, just take a sip of chilled milk, it helps. other than that water, banana and cucumber help too.
and when u feel the start of burn, take immediate action like take milk or banana, becoz if i let the burn stay there for a while, it gets worse and worse :(
