^^ Its in Pakistan...it doesn't have that much of a shelf life...so I am assuming its not vinegar though:)

Achar is a mercy from Allah. I can eat even those things with the help of some achar which I would not like to eat under normal circumstances. For example I go to a dinner party, I see that they have made the most good looking nihari , I put a load of it in my plate, I take a bite and realize that it tastes bad , now I cannot throw it or leave it like that , so I add lots of achar in it to cover up that bad taste and finish that horrible tasting nihari.
