Acer Notebooks

Any comments?.. opinions?..

Re: Acer Notebooks

I’d certainly recommend them… in the last two years, I’ve come across many technologists and consultants whose jobs require them to use laptops as a mission critical piece of hardware, and they’re starting to prefer Acer over the other major brands. They feel that the company has come a long way and its on the cusp of something bigger.

Trusted Reviews calls Acer “a decent alternative to an IBM or Sony”.

I’ve had an Acer laptop since 1997 and it still functions well. Its just slow, and that’s the only reason I don’t use it. My bro has been using acer for the last two years and he absolutely loves it.

My next laptop might be the Acer Ferrari 4000 with AMD Turion64 Mobile.

Re: Acer Notebooks

yeah so true

Re: Acer Notebooks

I've never really owned an Acer. However, a friend of mine bought one last year, and has had nothing bur problems with keys popping out, DVD Rom drives not recogning CD/DVD's, a flickering screen. The first impression is the most important.

Re: Acer Notebooks

I can vouch for Acer Travelmate 4402 (Canadian version) this one does not have the looks of Ferrari but it runs smoothly and swiftly as Ferrari, I bought it at the start of year and have used it so far on daily basis from one end of university to another and hot spots.
So far I dont have any problem as mentioned by FW the popping of DVD or flicker of the screen at all, according to my knowledge this version has anti-glare screen instead of the latest glossy screen, if you want to use it as an additional mirror when its turned off, I dont see any difference!

its worth it, you can always do you research and read various reviews of what kind of laptop you are looking for on www.notebookreviews.com
