Accutane

so why accutane is expensive in US than the one manufactured in India? Is it safe to get accutane from India like will it be the same thing. same quality? Its isotretinion at the end of the day no matter who manufactured it.

Re: Accutane

^^ that last sentence - you just answered your own question :)

Re: Accutane

Are you self treating with accutane? Or do you have a dermatologist overseeing your care? If you do have a dermatologist overseeing your care, the chances are they would not be comfortable with you taking medication delivered from elsewhere since accutane prescribing and adherence to birth control methods are heavily regulated. I would not suggest self medicating as the drug has plenty of potentially serious side effects, and you need close follow up with a physician. Re: quality - it maybe comparable, but I don't think anyone can say for certain.

Re: Accutane

^ I am not self treating as its not possible atleast not where I live. I am seeing a dermatologist & she told me to get a blood test done to keep a track of my cholesterol and triglyceride levels. My dermatologist will give me a prescription of 20mg acctuane next week but I am gonna force her to give me 40mg daily. fingers crossed

Re: Accutane

So my derm prescribed me benzel peroxide along with other few things to apply on my face while on accutane but as I have researched using topical medicated products is not good while on accutane. Does anyone know about this? :(

Re: Accutane

Three years ago Ranbaxy Laboratory Ltd, an Indian pharma major was found guilty of adulteration of it's products and was fined by USA so you should get information about manufacturer company and it's reputation before buying the drug.

Re: Accutane

The manufacturing company may be the same but issue becomes quality control on the local (store) level. No way to 100% make sure that the product you're getting was not tampered with in some way. The question becomes whether you're willing to take the risk.

BTW, I've been getting Retin A from alldaychemist for several years now and never had any issues with their product. You may want to check to see if they sell Accutane.

Re: Accutane

^ My derm prescribed me curcane (isotretinion) 40mg daily. its been a week now & I don't see any difference at all, no side effects no nothing. I heard it makes your skin & lips dry & what not but I don't see anything happening to me. Didn't experience other side effects either. Hope this medication is wroking. I know it will take a while but for some people it started working in the very first week. I sometimes want these side effects to ahppen so I know its working.

:(

Re: Accutane

bourjois - Side effects do NOT indicate that something is "working". Some side effects you may not even feel/see, they maybe present on your blood work alone but absolutely do not indicate that medication is "effective." Don't be discouraged, it's been a week only, hardly an indicator that you are "failing" as this med is to be taken for months. You've committed yourself to this, so try to focus on the positive.
