why might those considering a takeover bid be interested in seeing the management accounts as well? its a 9 marks question so please if someone can help come forward

before taking over you need to see how much asset a company has and how much money it is making as that would determine the price:)

its very important to see the management accounts,especially when its a hostile takeover,
it is good for
1. synergy
2.tax write off(if the co is in losses)
3. stock price

u also need to look at the accounts to calculate the goodwill that a company has because that is included in its selling price

Well presumably you would not be looking at it in the first place if there were no synergy benefits or strategic fit.

When you are looking at the accounts, you look at everything....tax write offs would be just one of the things that you would look at.

You do look at the accounts to see you much the business is worth to you or if the price being asked is realistic for you.

The price being paid minus the assets is goodwill. Goodwill is based on the profitability of the business and which sector it operates in.

oki .. the answer to the 1st question .. is that we check management accounts .. to check the internal control .. so if the company has a loss in the future periods the management knows how to deal with it …

in accounting the key to know a company’s actual postion is the check over internal control …
